@Anna's randomness WhoCares so I see letters and numbers in colors. I’m not sure how it works or if I will eventually lose it, but even when I’m thinking of them I see a letter or a number in color in my head. Like for me A is bright red, B is light yellow, C is a very light blue, and D is purpleish brown. And for numbers 1 is yellow, 2 is dark blue, 3 is like a grass green, and 4 is dark red. Every single letter and number is a different color, and when I see them in words I see each letters individual color.

I have total aphantasia. I can't see, smell, hear, recall the way things feel, or taste in my mind. So no images in my mind, most people can recall a scent like lemon or chocolate chip cookies baking. Nope, not me. I can't hear someone's voice in my mind or remember what any sound is like. Same with textures (it's why I'm always touching things!) or the way something will taste (which is weird that I'm a good cook!)
@TheNeurospicyMama
3 жыл бұрын
@@cassie6985 They are finding that aphantasia just like most brain things is a scale. I have total aphantasia with no senses in my mind and then the other side is hyperphantasia where people have extremely vivid imagery and senses in their mind and can play a movie in their mind of what they are thinking about. When I go to draw a monkey I think of the facts I know about monkeys and can create some semblance of one. It won't look very good. Now I'm better at drawing a cat without looking at one because I'm more familiar with the cats. Still, unless I'm looking at a reference photo it isn't going to be that great. As for the other senses, for instance. When I was packing for a trip in a different climate, I could not remember what it feels like to be hot. I kept wanting to pack my jacket and my kids said, "You won't need that at all mom!" I also suspect that I have SDAM (Self Deficient Autobiographical Memory) which apparently overlaps with people with aphantasia.

Turqoise - The warm salty air from the hotel room when I visited my boyfriend in Australia for the first time. My sister -who's favorite color and gemstone is turqoise. Hot Pink - I don't have the best associations with Hot Pink, nothing against the color, but all I can sense from Hot Pink is a dried up, well-used lipstick in a musty grandma's basement. Purple - Relaxed, calm. Looking in on tender moments between parents and children, or friends chatting in a cozy, warm house. Yellow - One of my friend's favorite colors, laughter, sunshine. Dry heat, floral scents, but also the sting of bugs. Lots of sorrow, too. -Long story for that and not mine to share. Baby Blue - My godson, the crisp winds of a fall day, the smell of morning dew. The smell of lilacs -for whatever reason, lol. Electric Blue - This one is much harder, I don't have many associations with bright colors 'cause they are not really my jam. This version of blue makes me think of disco music, the smell of an ikea. Gold - Luxurious textiles like velvet and silk, the sound of chains clanging together, the smell of polished metal. Warmth. Expensive. Gold and Silver are relative opposites in my mind, hence the temperature comparison. Silver - The feeling of coins, the weight of jewlery and the feeling of dangling earrings brushing my cheek or neck. Cold. Pastel Pink - The texture of silicone makeup, the smell of peonies, the feeling of being innocently yet irrevocably in love. Sweet candy. Lilac - The smell of lilac -quite obviously this time. The first signs of spring. -Nothing else popped into mind. White - Innocence, purity, angels. The feeling of lace between the fingers, freshly fallen powdered snow. Cold winds -brisk and painful. The sensation of your nose freezing over and not being able to breathe, the crunching of wet hair when walking to school. Rose Gold - Jewlery of passion. My future wedding band metal, my amazing boyfriend. His voice and laughter, his ability to make me smile even when I'm sad. The feeling of his beard against my chin when we kiss. His hand holding mine, the smell of his cologne. Red - My mother -her favorite color of all time. The feeling of being really hungry before a big meal or being 'hangry'. The taste of Mcdonald's french fries, lol. The smell of my mother's perfume. The texture of dried blood on skin. Orange - Citrus fruit juices, not necessarily orange juice, just citrus juices. The tang of a sour candy. The texture of squishing fruits to yield juices from them like lemons or oranges. Hot, humid heat. Grey - The smell and taste of smoke from a fire, the weight of an oncoming storm, the sound of thunder rolling across the land. The smell of an overfilled creek, the feeling of a downpour of rain on your head. Smooth standing stones crossing a river, the texture of a good skipping rock. Black - The feeling of being regal, authoritative, important. The texture of soft fur on a cat, surrounded comfortably in darkness before falling asleep. The taste of well-cooked meat on a grill, the smell of toast in the morning. TLDR : Colors = feelings. That is all folks.

Molly you are amazing. I have a question for you how do face being scared when all you’re supposed to do is act tough and strong and not break down from something regarding your vision?

Molly I'd say your shirt is hot pink or fushia pink, I'm sighted but sometimes I say what I think a colour is ie this cup is blue and others say it's green. I'm not colour blind, I just think everyone sees colour differently

this might be interesting to some people: i am fully sighted, always have been, but i don’t really have visual memory. when i physically see things, i process them visually, by if i then think about it later, it’s all conceptual. the only sense in which i have visual memory is recognising things when i see them. i also have mild synaesthesia, which plays into how i remember things.

As a sighted person..... Maroon and burgundy are the same in my opinion 😂 maybe burgundy is slightly more purple if i had to guess.

I think velvet and grey are a great association. It's very soft to see visually. Not straining on the eyes.

It is so interesting that you can lose memory of colors...but then learn to interpret them in new ways!

so here's my version (I am not blind but I have a visual processing disorder called Irlens syndrome which means I get really overstimulated by light) Turquoise: A calming colour that reminds me of freshness and cotton (like the scent) It is very bright to me, but at the same time is not over stimulating. The same as molly it also reminds me of the water when you are on a cruise ship pulling away from the dock when it becomes oxygenated and leaves swirls of blue and white. Cruises are peaceful to me so that's why I associate that with such. Hot Pink: heat and summer, as well as carnivals because carnival is bright and energetic. It also reminds me of watermelon, cotton candy and bubble-gum. Personally, Pink in any way is not a calming colour or a preference as its very bright meaning it can be overwhelming for me to see. Magenta gives me the same sorta vibes, but instead of a hot summers day I get an evening after a hot day. Purple: The colour of Irlens syndrome (it is the colour of my filters as well as dark grey). It reminds me of mystery and Halloween, dusk and autumn. It is also a very calming colour but also very suffocating and powerful (This is because I had it on my walls for ages). It also reminds me of perfume and makeup, as well as enchantment and witches. It also reminds me of depression and heaviness, slumber or a numb exhaustion. Neon's: Personally I hate neon any colour simply because its what I associate with being overstimulated, just a sea of senseless colour with no way out. It is stressful and bright, which is why I hate summer lol. Pastels: Calming but also weakness and watered down. Like a sunset or sunrise, very floral and feminine but at the same time lo-fi and relaxation Yellow: Reminds me of warmth but also over stimulation (basically any warm tone is stressful for me) but also sunflowers and sunlight. It reminds me of school because of yellow highlighters, and just summer in general. Also of spices and far east cultures. Baby Blue: A very calm , cooling colour. Reminds me of the sky and reading, as well as a cloudless day. It also reminds me of cotton smells again and candles. It also reminds me of bathing and healing. Electric blue: Night time and the peace that follows a night out. Winter wonderland in London and the idea of an evening after a hot summers day again. It also reminds me of Disney because of Disneyland Paris 25th anniversary used a lot of electric blue. Gold: Richness and prosperity as well as winning and stardom. Also reminds me of Egypt and eye shadow. Sandy deserts and beaches, as well as decadent desserts. Silver: Coolness and ice as well as hot metal and cars. It also reminds me of straws or cups and plates that you get in an American style diner. Old hollywood movies and theatre comes to mind as well. Im not gonna do them all but this could be a fun video idea for even sighted people just to see how different people have different feelings towards colours. As someone with a disorder that changes my perception of colours it could be an interesting thing for me to look into as well. THANKS MOLLY

Molly describing color is interesting im colorblind in 1 eye due to an injury when I was 8. Its a rare condition that can be caused by a head injury or illness. I fell out of a tree and hit my head on a rock which triggered my seizures. I wear special contacts that help but I don't always wear them. So I see differently out of both of my eyes. And plus seeing so much color gives me headaches and strains my right eye

You always have a fantastic sense of color in your makeup and outfits, but your new channel theme colours…. Girl I hope you didn’t pay any designer for that because they took advantage of you. Those colours are literally painful to look at next to each other.

Turquoise: water, hydration, light, airy. Serenity. Hot Pink: lipstick, cheetah print, the 80s. Paris Hilton. Feeling on fire. Neons make me feel rushed & busy. Purple: Grape, Midnight, witches, Halloween. Mysterious. (In terms of the first purple she showed) Yellow: sunshine, warmth, summer, friendliness. Baby blue: cozy, light, airy, the feeling of your windows being open at night in the summer. Gold: luxurious, warm, high class. Silver: Winter time, sparkly snow. Pastel Pink: ballet, girly, feminine, small children. White: airy, wind, sheer curtains, snow, laundry, the smell of laundry detergent, cotton scented candles.

I really love the Michael Buble By Invitation perfume. I get SO many compliments on it any time I wear it. The best part is that it wearw really well. Throughout the day when the scent changes it still smells really nice. My mom is really picky with being allergic to most scents but this one she can be around all day and loves. That is really good for me.

Color-wise, maroon is a little bit more purple than burgundy, which is just like a deep red, and lilac and lavender are almost identical, except lilac has more of a pink undertone!

I am sighted. I took a colors study class. We were assigned to to a color combo project. Everyone mostly related the color combos to food. Such as cinnamon toast, Supreme Pizza, Pepperoni pizza, icecream shop, garden salad 🥗. Our teacher said perhaps everyone should have lunch BEFORE class! LOL.
