@@gcn Same route on a real bike. The location is great, but like so many other MTB and gravel trails, cyclists are competing with people on dirt bikes and e-bikes for the same real estate. It's particularly irksome to see the damage they do on trail hills and single track, not to mention the fact that any novice in motor vehicles can beat even the fittest rider up steep climbs. They're really apples and oranges!

A lot of European riders are de-restricting their e-bikes, which apparently is not difficult. It seems particularly easy with some of the Chinese bikes (I suspect they do it quite on purpose because they know few people would buy the bike if it was speed- limited to EU standards).. I am not sure if the computer controllers on these mainstream brands have more protection built into them to prevent owners from bypassing the regional speed restrictions, but I'm sure some brands make it easier than others, so it is worth researching. Might be as simple as going into the diagnostic menu of the head unit on some bikes. It used to be harder than that many years ago. You had to do bypass tricks with the actual motor.

@SonnyDarvishzadeh

To clarify, in order order to take the battery with you, you also need to take the whole drivepack. The locking mechanism to the frame is on the battery, not the drivepack. So, people shouldn't think it's a small battery of 1.4kg, both together are much longer and over double the weight. Do you record ride data from the motor too? Like power and cadence?
