There are so many splendid details in this! The 1234-1 count in. Then just to hear Bill singing so great! The stolen(?) half solo or did Chris just play on, when John missed it, or only let it happen? I guess that "was" what they were laughing about. John's phenomenal solo and splendid pumping bass vocals. Outstanding!

Even better than when they sang this many years ago. Love the twelve-string guitar! There are so many excellent versions of this song on KZitem. Check out Daniel Donato Cosmic Country (electric version) and the acoustic performance, too, in the open air. Also Della Mae.

The Desert Rose Band is an American country rock band from California, founded by Chris Hillman (formerly of the Byrds and the Flying Burrito Brothers) along with Herb Pedersen and John Jorgenson in 1985. Rounding out the original lineup were Bill Bryson on bass guitar, Jay Dee Maness on pedal steel guitar, and Steve Duncan on drums. In the late 1980s and early 1990s, the band charted several hit singles on the US Billboard Hot Country Singles & Tracks charts until disbanding in February 1994

This band was one of the very top groups during the Country boom of the last 20/30 years. They were fantastic. Just look at the fun they are having! Chris Hillman is one of the top all around musicians.......ANYWHERE! Very underappreciated. John J is beyond talented! Herb P is MR.Cool and makes everything look like a walk in the park. As a musician myself, I'm in awe of these guys and always have been. Long live "The Desert Rose Band!"

As this song kicked off Chris Hillman's Desert Rose album it really stands as the first song in the Desert Rose Band repertoire which is chock full of great songs- like this one. It was just providential that John Jorgenson showed up and gave such impetus to the formation of one of the most fantastic bands in country music.
