Chana Pulao Recipe
Ingredients:
Oil: 5 tbsp
Onion: 1, chopped
Garlic and ginger paste: 1 tbsp
Green cardamom: 3-4 pods
Black cardamom: 1 pod
Nutmeg: a pinch
Cloves: 4-5
Cumin seeds: 1 tsp
Tomato paste: 1 cup
Yogurt: 1 cup
Boiled chickpeas: 1 cup
Rice: 2 cups, soaked for 30 minutes
Instructions:
1. Heat oil in a large pot over medium heat.
2. Add the chopped onion and fry until translucent.
3. Add 1 tbsp of garlic and ginger paste and fry for 1 minute.
4. Add green cardamom, black cardamom, nutmeg, cloves, and cumin seeds. Fry for 30 seconds until fragrant.
5. Add 1 cup of tomato paste and 1 cup of yogurt. Cook the mixture for 8-10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
6. Add 1 cup of boiled chickpeas to the pot and mix well.
7. Drain the soaked rice and add it to the pot, stirring to combine with the chickpea mixture.
8. Cook on high flame for 8-10 minutes, until most of the liquid has been absorbed.
9. Reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and cook for another 8-10 minutes until the rice is fully cooked and fluffy.
10. Fluff the rice gently with a fork before serving. Enjoy your delicious chana pulao!
