Some months ago I tied a double gonga, just for curiosity and for the fun of it. Yesterday we were fishing for "picuda" (Salminus affinis), a top predator of our rivers. A wonderful beast. Nothing were working, then I rememberd my long forgotten Double Gonga. The result was almost inmediate, with two clear hits from mature adult fish. Couldn´t get them because I'm just getting used to the species. Thanks for such a great pattern. It works fine!!

I wondered if it is as effective if I cut the front hook off? We have a really tight restriction on the number of hooks on our waters. I like having only one hook on a fly. All the best, Thanks for sharing. Sean

+JGregsMu5ic it still works fine though if you cut the front hook off. ive been doing that for a long time and never had one come apart.

Sean tie the the front of the fly on a 35 mm articulation shank and you will only have a 1 hook fly . Awesome streamer for sure .

Why hook side down? No problems with snags? A very, very cool pattern!
