Yes Asami plays an instrument, she plays the piano. You can see Asami play the piano in the songs; "We The United" and "Today is the Day" All the band members can play the piano, not like Miyako who is a virtuoso on the piano. 🤘

With the piano and vocal part in the middle, Miyako wanted to pay respect to Chopin! From the album "Clockwork Immortality" Lyrics: Asami Music: Miyako Arrangement: Miyako/Lovebites

Lovebites never fail to deliver, and when live the virtuoso musicianship of the band as a whole is on another level in full display.

Miho left the band for personal reasons. The other band members tried to convince Miho to stay in the band, but eventually accepted Miho's departure.

The reason I guess about Miho's departure is a deviation of the style of music between Miho and the direction the band wanted to go. What I know from the interviews of Miho, she wanted old school, conventional, authentic metal. She didn't like back tracks and even said "not to depend on missiles such as shredding", but Lovebites regularly uses back tracks and shredding is what Lovebites is. The album issued after her departure is Judgement Day, and all songs are in totally new style, that is the direction Lovebites wanted and Miho didn't want, I guess.

The backing tracks subject matter really splits the rock/metal community, to be honnest. Personally I am not a big fan. Whenever I am at a concert and hear something not played live, I am a bit put off. Nevertheless, I witnessed a superb Riverside concert that featured some backing tracks, but the awesomeness of the music somehow prevailed. The thing with Lovebites, as I see it, is that they always try to put their best effort in playing live as much as possible. For example, Asami really didn't have to play piano on Today Is the Day, but hey, she anyway had nothing else to do meanwhile, so she did it. Maybe some backing tracks could have been left out, like the middle piano parts in Swan Song, or the keyboards in Break the Wall. It's always a gamble, add it for more music fullness, or leave it to maintain more live authenticity. In fact, I believe letting out some tracks from the album is what gives their live shows more rawness and aggressiveness: less orchestra and synth, more metal. As a side note, Beatles stopped playing concerts from 1967 onwards, when their music became more complex and they added a lot of extra sounds on the albums, which would have been impossible to play live. We have to ask ourselves: do we prefer not having Lovebites concerts anymore because their music cannot be entirely played live?

@@pometele Brilliant consideration. I agree with your comments. It is difficult issue and it all depends on how you use back tracks. Queen used backing track heavily but those cases were very effective and I'd say they did a great work. Lovebites as well, they use backing tracks as an extra layer or as a support. They got their sound wider and deeper , not to make up their musicianship, don't cheat on you. I left my comment to a channel of Miho talks to fans telling us she didn't like too much back tracks, and I said when I started to play in a band, effects we got were treble and bass and reverb and tremolo on my amp, some switches and whammy bar on my guitar. Time has been changing and it is natural to use all the effects including back tracks now. Even Miho uses all the effects and foot pedals which we never thought of 60 years ago. That is how rock 'n roll evolved. It is not which is better but matter of how you like it better. BWT, I just love the two different bassist (sound) Miho and Fami equally.

LOVEBITES - Rising lyrics: Failure or pride? The fear deep inside Success doesn't come with a few empty tries Fortune and fame, seem easy to claim But those who've succeeded defeated the pain Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred... You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again! DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! Too late to change? The past will remain But it's up to you to decide on a name Glory is not what miracles brought The path you have taken will lead you the way Why give up on a life that you love? Play the game with no shame till the very end LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far Show your scars with pride and believe your history... Sometimes we can't see the light anywhere Sometimes we don't have our luck in the air Almost like we've been left by ourselves I'm alone, you're alone, somewhere in the world But open your arms, look up and you will see an endless blue sky l believe, you believe, we will live out today So it leads to tomorrow! SOLO: midori / miyako / midori / miyako / both RISE AGAIN - though you're broken and scarred You can choose, not to lose, you can build it again DON'T LET GO - of what's deep in your heart You are free to fly, rise above your fate! LIVE AGAIN - with the vows in your heart Even if you get lost in the darkest of nights DON'T FORGET - that you've made it this far You are free to fly, go and change your destiny! ----- lyrics: asami music: miyako arrangement: LOVEBITES (miho, haruna, midori, miyako, asami) album: Clockwork Immortality 12/05/2018
