Talk about moving the goal post. 1) It's Baldwins personal responsibility. 2) The rules should be changed so that an actor has to check the gun themselves. 3) The rules should be changed so that the people who are responsible now, should additionally show the actor that the gun is cold, not only tell him so. All the while pretending to not have moved the goal post at all and lying about what she said earlier.

The whole problem with the debate with bxbullet is simple. She cannot comprehend that Alec was not liable for this accident. That depending on the sets protocols for handling the firearm, it could solely lie with the armorer, propmaster, or assistant director. Her phycosisis that she cannot fathom and incident where the person holding the gun and firing it is not responsible for an accident or incident. I can give and example in a response to this post
@TheSlicer13

In the movie the prestige. 2 characters, (Christian bale and hugh jackman,) are competing magicians sometime in the late 1800s. One of christian bales character's tricks was catching a bullet from a musket pistol. To spoil the trick, the gun is loaded only with gun powder while he has the bullet hidden on him to pretend he catches it. When he calls for a volunteer he hands the pistol unbeknownst to him his rival hugh Jackman. He brings his bullet and when he turns away drops it down the barrel of the pistol turns back around and then takes aim. Bale notices the face of his rival only then and throws his hands up to shield his face and gets his finger blown off. In this case the shooter is fully at fault only because they loaded the pistol, if not tampered with then nothing goes wrong. Now if the situation changed and a real volunteer came up but Christian's character makes a mistake and doesn't clear the gun properly its not the volunteers fault, it is bales character's fault. So if Alec Baldwin was handed a gun for a scene or stunt or rehearsal etc and he is told by the person responsible for handling the firearm that the gun is cold or not loaded and it goes off, unless Alec tampered with the gun after it being handed it to him he is absolved of the responsibility. This was a tragic accident, but saying Alec Baldwin is at fault is stretching to much

Regardless if it was murder or manslaughter, a person died and it was the result of Alec Baldwin shooting her. Whenever you handle a firearm, or hand it to someone, always open the action immediately, and visually check the chamber, receiver and magazine to be certain they do not contain any ammunition. Always keep actions open when not in use. Never assume a gun is unloaded. This is without exception and should be taught to actors as occupational safety training whenever the hazard presents itself, i.e. whenever the weapon would be handled. A film producer is a person that initiates, coordinates, supervises and MANAGES the creation and production of movies. Being a producer, Alec Baldwin was also responsible to manage the safety of the workplace and for hiring competent individuals. He was responsible for hiring a negligent armorer for his set. He is responsible at every angle.

On CNN, a film propmaster named two ways the "aims at the camera" shot can be done safely. One, they get the shot they need just blocking the actor in place, turning on the camera, clearing everyone away from the camera, getting the shot, and then the gun is safed and the crew returns. The other way is to have the camera set up at 90-degrees and using a mirror at 45-degrees. Also, ONLY the propmaster and actor are supposed to handle the guns, and the actor is not supposed to mess around with it (open it, drop the magazine, cock/uncock, rack bolts, etc). You could have a scene with 20 guys on set with firearms, and you can just imagine the potential for disaster if all of them start fooling around with them while they're setting up the scene. The propmaster is responsible for clearing the guns and handing them off to the actors, who take the word of the propmaster.

I love Destiny's approach to this story for the same way I loved his approach to the Kyle Rittenhouse story. He bases his stance on the currently available facts about the case, if it turns out that evidence is presented later that proves AB was in fact at fault,, it in no way invalidates what he is saying here. Even if I find him obnoxious in other ways I feel like he is one of the only people who doesn't discuss breaking news in a way that pushes their own narrative/agenda, and that he means and stands behind every statement he says

I think a lot of people could misconstrue certain things, but I do think the equivocation to the Rittenhouse story is incorrect. Primarily, because the person liable was most likely Rittenhouse if you were arguing homicide by negligent use of a dangerous weapon. My understanding is that a 17-year-old crossed state lines with a dangerous weapon in a state where it is a misdemeanor to possess said dangerous weapon, and therefore was negligent in the handling of the firearm, just by being in possession of it. We knew all of this at the time Destiny made statements on Rittenhouse, compared to a movie set where it is common for employees to handle weapons, and an accidental discharge occurred leaving the question of liability way up in the air. I know a lot of people were making comments that what Rittenhouse did was a 1st-degree homicide or something stupidly similar, but I find this no different to Destiny's comments on Rittenhouse they are both incorrect. Just by having a dangerous weapon where it is in violation of the law is negligent regardless if the discharge would be legal if they were above the age of 18, therefore they negligently contributed to the death of a person.
@darkusandtoast2207

@@gondotheslayer, have you watched a video on Rittenhouse? But just cause I can. Rittenhouse was 17 with an assault weapon who crossed state boarders. Although he was only 20 minutes away from where he lived in the other state while those you got shot lived 40min-hour away. So how big of a deal is up to you. Next is the lead up. Assuming you don't know anything. Rittenhouse grouped up with a bunch of people who stationed them selves under the idea of stoping protesters from looting and destroying their community business. Rittenhouse was filmed guarding places and also applying first aid to protesters. The shootings. The interaction starts when several men were trying to push a large metal garbage container that was on fire (I think into a gas station). Rittenhouse then uses a fire extinguisher to put out the fire. One man did not like this and got aggressive and stated Chasing Rittenhouse. After running for a bit (cross the street and like two buildings) someone shot 2 shots into the air (20ft behind Rittenhouse). Then Rittenhouse turns around and shoots the chaser (was within 5 feet) (dead) (happened to be a child predator). Then Rittenhouse called a friend (should of called cops). Rittenhouse then starts running to the police line. People are upset and chase after Rittenhouse. Skate boarder nocks Rittenhouse down. Rittenhouse still down gets kicked by black guy, black guy runs off. Skate boarder comes back, gets shot (dead). Man with pistol runs up to Rittenhouse with hands up, then points gun at Rittenhouse, Rittenhouse shoots (hits arm, disabled man with pistol). Rittenhouse finally gets up while still aiming at crowd. Then turns and continues running to police line. Gets to police line and is not heard and informed to go home to stop breaking curfew. Few hours later in home state Rittenhouse turns himself in. That's at least my memory of a year ago and I don't know how much you know (most people wouldn't look it up). Thus just curious on your thoughts.

Is this reflecting the social opposition towards 'submissive' traits or practices where it's desired for a feminine partner in general cases? How was she raised? Does this go towards bad decisions? That said, wide-spanning gun reform enforced to solve specific problems is not the answer, and this situation is far removed in terms of practical solutions to the one you espoused. The incidence rate of misuse of firearms within families that practice preventive safety training is less than 1% of those who do not. The same statistic pretty much holds true, to a lesser degree for other tools/equipment in industry. It's the prop master or armourer's responsibility. These aren't treated like guns because the actor doesn't know if they are real guns or not. It's a prop... It could be a fake gun, a real gun, a real gun that's been adjusted to look like a fictional gun, whatever. Same thing applies to other props. But it's up to the prop master to make sure they get everyone on the same page about how safe or unsafe the props the actor is using are. The assistant director also has responsibility if they bypassed the person who knows what they're meant to be using. It's not, I repeat NOT, up to the actor. 🤦🏻♂️

People often feel trapped by simple questions because they assume that you're making a point by the question you're asking. They get caught up in over explaining in response to the question instead of answering it because they don't hear the question, only the point that they assume you're making. In my experience, the best thing you can do is explain to them what's happening and assure them that you're just asking for that one piece of the puzzle so that you both can be on the same page - you need that one answer and not everything that comes to their mind. It's really annoying and it doesn't always work.

I agree that people often feel that way but I disagree that it would have been rhetorically effective here. Besides, when a person is that worried about looking bad, it's safe to assume they're arguing in bad faith. You don't win a debate against someone arguing in bad faith by being charitable.

And the camera lady is at fault for sticking around a set she knew people were drinking and shooting after hours on a set and had lax safety. It's just all bad.

I've noticed recently that Destiny has spoken to people who are either so good at pretending they are completely missing the point or they are actually missing the point. I have this issue with people quite often, what tends to happen is you have to just stop and wash away all of the shower of shit they have filled the conversation with, they are protecting something they know not to be true to themselves with layers and layers of words. Once you've reset yourself and ask a "yes or no" building block question in order to establish some common grounds to work from they just break! Because they know they can't possibly start again from scratch and construct the same argument. This is where the jibberish comes fully into play, they will try to build the argument from the outside in again, they were only existing in the layers of words that hid the centralised point. Edit: The "yes or no" question in this instance was something along the lines of "Do you think 'should' and 'should be allowed to' are the same thing" this is where the conversation was ultimately going to have to reset and start again from the perspective of liability. A simple question and I was happy when destiny asked it, I thought "there it is, the pin" and she just turned in a complete opposite direction. 1:07:00 If someone could please timestamp that in the reply.

I agree and I would add that people like this woman have a huge stakes to lose sometimes if they conceded their points or don't follow their script of prepared answers. Im pretty sure she would lose a lot of her conservative followers if she looked at this shooting situation in a non biased way. It could also be an ego thing where the person cannot admit they are wrong for fear of how they might look to others

@@godiebeard I'm certain that also comes into play. It's one in the same. I may be wrong here, this is the first time I've ever seen her but attractive, gun girl and I'm going to hazard a guess at gamer girl too, then guess the crowd from there. Again, all of that is an image built from the outside in. I'm in the UK and very much considered right wing over here, I've been watching Destiny for some time now to gain an understanding of other thought. It's tragic to watch what "right wing" debaters actually come across as, it's all policy debate, where if the meat? Where is your belief and where did it grow from?

@@cartoonsandcereal3413 you don't really understand the role of executive producer and what that entails. You sound like you don't know anything about the movie industry. As an actor it is not his job to check the gun. Once someone hands an actor the gun they should not be fiddling with the chamber in any way. And he was pointing the gun at the camera for the shot. Someone is behind behind camera to check the shot. He wasn't pointing thr gun recklessly at someone.
