@@defetya I think people need to rewatch the whole world championship games. Because actually Nepo had very decent chances in the first few games. It wasn't until the massive blunder that he started to miss pretty much any chance to win in the following games, getting back into it. Yeah, Magnus said that the world championship match is very stressful and not fun to play. And since he has nothing much left to prove, I don't blame him for only wanting to play for the fun of the game. I can't imagine him needing the money anymore either. And on top of that if he quits at his peak, his legacy will have a more beautiful ending than if he continues to play even when his age starts getting in his way. All and all I would completely understand it if he didn't bother playing another world championship match.

It would've been hilarious if Nepo had played Bc6 when the rook attacked it. Because it was the square where he blundered the Bishop in WCC against Magnus. 😂 Like revenge against Magnus handpicked opponent

People really don’t take the mental game seriously. Ding and Alireza were pinged as the favorites and neither seemed to prep or train very much for this. They also both succumb to their nerves and play suboptimal chess because of it. Fabi and Nepo are for sure the favorites. I have Fabi to win it all. They both seemed to understand the assignment and actually prepped for this. Hikaru is the wild card, I have no idea how he will perform. He has already exceeded my expectations by not being 0-4 so far.,

You can't blame Firouzja for getting destroyed, this game was an insanely high-level headache, equalization hangs on a knife edge, and he's still too young and not experienced enough to hold it. I don't think Nepo made it look easy this time, this game and its positions were like 3200 elo levels in terms of complexity. Shows how much of a monster he is, people really underestimated him, coming into this tournament.
