Great detailed review! I'm new to having a monitor----This one looks real handy though as a first time user. Just a few questions: Does this camera have external recording (can I record VIA the monitor--if not how does uploading LUT work if you can't record via monitor) LASTLY this should be compatible with my sony a6400, right?
@LEOPAZZOPRODUCTIONS
2 жыл бұрын
Hey Chris. No this camera does not have external recording. No you can’t record via the monitor. You just plug in HDMI from the camera to the monitor and the monitor shows you whatever the camera sees. For example my camera films in vlog which is a flat video profile that doesn’t have much colour. It just looks grey colour. So I load the vlog to rec709 LUT to the monitor and the monitor now shows me the video with colour. The LUT is not baked on the final recorded video. It just gives you a look of how it will look once you load the LUT in post production instead of just filming with the flat vlog profile. The monitor will show you what it will look like with colour. Hope this helps. Thanks for watching.

Great in-depth review! I just had few questions. In an another review, they said the zebras are pretty dim so they are hard to see. If I have zebras turned on my camera(Lumix S5), can I use it instead of the zebras from the monitor? Also if I can see the zebras from the camera, would I also have the camera settings info displayed on the monitor? Also in the white balance settings of the monitor, from the video we can only see 3 presets and a user option. Is there a way to set the temp in K instead of manually inputting RGB values? Also how accurate is the focus peaking from your experience? Thanks!
@LEOPAZZOPRODUCTIONS
Жыл бұрын
thanks for the feedback. the zebras you can use the slider on the monitor to adjust the strength of the zebras. yes you can use the zebras from your camera if you like. Yes you can go to your camera hdmi settings and pick what info you want displayed on the monitor. What camera are you using? yes we have the 3 white balance presets and the rgb adjustments to fine tune it. No we don't have have white balance Kelvin adjustment control on the monitor. maybe this will come in a future firmware upgrade if we reach out to Desview and let them know that is a feature we would like to see. As for the focus peaking I tend to use the monitor focus peaking and we can adjust the sensitivity of the focus peaking within the monitor. I trust the monitor focus peaking as it has been accurate for me. Thanks again for watching. Let me know if you have any other questions. cheers

Hey Daniel thanks for watching and great question. Yes I have been using the Panasonic gh5 and gh6 at 4k 60fps with no issues. Thanks for the great intensive review of the features etc. I’ve never owned a monitor, with the white balance I’m abit confused. If I’ve set it in cam or with a white/grey card, I’ll have to set again in the monitor? Or is it just to match my camera screen I’m abit confused, how would I find out the balance of my lcd screen on the camera? (Sony a7iv ). Not brought the monitor yet but looking to get this one
@LEOPAZZOPRODUCTIONS
2 жыл бұрын
Hey On My Trek. Thanks for your feedback. Much appreciated. You have asked some good questions and it seems like you are on the right track. Just set your white balance in your camera as normal. With a grey /white card or one of the white balance presets in the camera. As for the white balance adjustments within the monitor those are mainly to fine tune the monitor so the monitor looks as close as possible to your camera lcd screen. For example every tv or computer screen or camera monitor may be calibrated differently so the colours will not all look the exact same. So having these white balance settings within the monitor will just allow us to make the monitor look like the camera lcd screen in case you need to change it. Regardless of whatever the monitor is set to. Whatever the camera sees is what will be recorded to the memory card. To be honest I don’t get too caught up with the white balance settings on the monitor. I usually just set it one time when I first get the monitor and leave it alone. Once it’s set, it is set for good. No need to change it again. If I remember correctly, the default monitor white balance settings are most natural / best looking and similar looking to my camera. I’m using Panasonic Lumix GH5. Hope this reply helps you and has answered your question. Let me know if there is anything else you would like to know. If I get enough questions I may make another video in more detail answering these questions with examples. For the price of this monitor and all the features included I would say it is worth it and I am happy with it. Just keep in mind that 800nits brightness may not be the easiest to see the monitor screen outdoors in a bright day. Good thing it comes with sun hood / shade to block the sun. Keep in touch and let me know how it goes for you. Cheers
