Up over the Wattagans mate. Used those roads many a time as a detour when the freeway was blocked. Camera angle good and solid👍👍

Everyone has already told you that the camera angle is great. Love to get the notification that you have another video ready for us internet passengers. I live in Queensland, so it is lovely to see the scenery down south. 💖

Hey Shane, the angle of ur camera is good and doesnt shake as much with the truck, eucalyptus oil is the best to remove sticky stuff, now maybe something like velcro might be best to hold ur camera in place rather than tape, maybe a small screw to get it on ur cupboard to secure ur velcro, then no more tape, no mess...i think the worse time i had with detours was when they were building the gateway bridge in brissy back around 1989, if u missed the turn off, only because signage wasn't as great back then, u would have to travel miles to get back to where u were going as there were no other turn offs as they didnt exist back in the day, now u get stuck for hours if there is and accident on bruce hway or if the traffic is that bad u turn into a snail, don't people realise it's more wear and tear on a vehicle when u stopping and starting all the time...safe travels Shane, oh and as for the gym, don't waste money, just get into the 7 minute exercises, check them out on the net, make sure ur eating enough fibre, keep ur bowels good and make sure ur stopping for pee breaks plenty of water as it's been real hot and ur good, that will keep u in check my favourite truckie, course all truckies should be aware on health, we all take our health for granted...

I have to say that the view is so much better the way it is now. Thanks :) I was once driving from Vancouver Canada to Reno to then go east and there was a mountain pass that was closed so i followed the detour sign and then thought i was fine till i realised i was going the wrong way - had to call into a servo with my map and go in and say "where am i? i have no idea" LOL they had a good laugh and got me back on track. was only 50 miles in the wrong direction LOL :)

The gap. The "roadworks" there have been stalled for years. I don't know why they haven't re-opened the other lane.

Shane, Lovin your videos. Not fond of the C word but I reckon a loud speaker at the front of your truck would be hilarious. So many drivers so deserving of your guidance. I respect and admire your skill. He

Take your motorbike over the gap. Turn left onto Sandy Creek Road. Takes you out towards Cessnock, Millfield and Wollombi . Head towards Peats Ridge and stop at Jerry's Cafe at Kulnura. Back to Newy via Bumble Hill Rd and Yarramalong Valley. Good ride road is a bit ordinary in places.

I hope you got the new jake brake switch fitted to the gear shift ... also, have you considered a bit of bug off or windex in the washer reservoir...?? I hate smeared windscreens with bug juice!! Detours?? Well I remember one time when I was in the Army, we drove from Perth to Singleton. We had route cards but the basic rule was, if you got to a turn you had to wait until the truck behind you caught up. That ensured every truck followed the convoy. I cant remember where it was in rural NSW but someone didn't wait for the truck behind them. The following truck turned the wrong way and entered the town, taking out nearly every power line that crossed the road in that small town!!!! Did some arse kicking come out of that or what!!! Great video mate, just what we like!

About time we got another video, thanks mate, Oh the Jake brake eh, that reminded me of the time 1999 in Tully General Carriers S-Line Inter , loaded 20 tonne of Railway lines at Malanda to go to Tully Sugar Mill, so came down the Palmerston Hwy into Innisfail , bloody Jake wasn't working , damn that was scary , alternating trailer brake, then foot brake , with common sense , was relieved to get to the bottom.

It's a shame that they never give enough information about detours. The right turn at Freemans Waterhole and running up through Wakefield to Barnsley probably would have been the best option.

The position of the camera angle is just fine for me...can see everything very well. If you use some acetone or denatured alcohol to remove the waxy stuff the sticky tape will work again. I watch so many AUS-based videos that when I do watch a US-based one I keep thinking that people are driving on the wrong side of the road :)

Oi Shane, Re. mounting stuff in car and truck cabins. Always wipe the surfaces down with metho to get rid of silicon and plasticiser. Cloth backed Duct tape works better than most other tapes. I also use Bluetac a bit too. It forms around odd shapes and corners etc. I Never found anything that sticks to glass as good as those tabs they give u with those E tag things. U could try chatting up the sheilas that work in the Rego Offices and score a few. Tag mounts that is. Merry Xmas to u and urs.

The angle of the camera is great, the only vibration from the camera is mostly due I thin to the vibration of the Cab.... on my way home from Wallsend, I was diverted from going through from Cameron Park drive, to George Booth at the West Wallsend roundabout...all via George Booth Dve, towards Freemans Dve, then onto the Van Park over Mt sugarloaf

I wouldn’t go to a gym… Never have & never will. I get enough exercise looking after my 2 year old daughter, our dog & “the missus” 💪😆. I laugh at “personal trainers” (😂) who constantly try & sign me up when I see them in shopping centres & I shoot down their claims that “it’ll change my life” by telling them… “I get more than enough of a workout just THINKING about exercise” 😂🤚 The looks I get in return are hilarious (to me anyway 😂😂😂).

Me too. Hands up. I used to ride my various motorbikes up the old Pacific Highway from Sydney through all the twisties north of Hornsby, over the old Peats Ferry Bridge and up through Calga and if I wanted only a short 3 hour ride, I would turn left there then left again at Mangrove Mountain and follow Wiseman’s Ferry Road, over the ferry and back home through Dural. Otherwise, if I was happy to do a slightly longer ride, I would instead turn right at Calga and continue on the twisty Old Pacific Highway through Gosford to Morrisset, hang a left there onto Freeman’s Drive, then through Cooranbong and onto the part that you were on with that detour near Freeman’s Waterhole. No motorway near there in those days. Continuing on Freeman’s Drive, I would have to go through Mulbring (no bypass then) and then usually take that same left turn that you did at the Lake Road roundabout (not a roundabout back then), on through Cessnock and Branxton, left onto the New England Highway to Singleton for lunch. Then I would have the best part of the ride, down the Putty Road to Windsor and then back towards Sydney along Windsor Rd, Showground Road, Old Northern Road, Castle Hill Road and back home on the Leafy North Shore. A quick 6-hour ride (not including lunch time) on some of the best motorcycle roads. Noice! Edited to fix the spelling-checker F@#%ups. I think I’ve caught them all. Sneaky bastards they are.

going up the hill past the oak at the moment by law road work signs for 60 km/h...but yes on this day there was a large truck fire....on the M1 Nthbound just 2km sth of the George Booth Dve, West Wallsend interchange....the fire was so bad it melted the cab of the truck and the trailer, burnt the rubber of the wheels, and caused a major grass fire as well....13 Fire units in attendance, with the road closed in both directions from the Hunter Expressway and George Booth Drive, on ramps sth bound, and the Freemans Dve exit and Awaba Interchange Nthbound...

I kinda miss the creative language. Are you mellowing? If I counted wrong, sorry, but you said 'f**k and damn once each. I laughed so much when you did that pompous 'non-swearing' voice a couple of years back even though I'm not a girl who swears much at all. Notes on the camera position; have you thought about fitting a camera bracket to the ceiling of the cab in any way? I like the new position, I thought it gave a more true eyeline with what a driver would see, especially when small vehicles disappear close down in front when they cut you off - which brings me back to the creative language possibilities. Detours? I make my own, get off the highway every chance possible.
