Man, i recently (just now) watched an exerpt from Alex O'Connor's "debate" with another theologian, and he questioned the God's morality on this exact verse. I thank God that you were the recommended video to answer Alex's question. May God richly bless your life for allowing him to help me through you 🫡🫡🫡

so we're just lying now? the chapter does NOT say that women and children were to be kept alive. it tells them to do with the women and children what they wish

We will all face the same judgment before God. These are nations that utterly chose to reject God. Others from other areas were conquered but had the women and children spared.

@shadowhamster Yet Abortion is celebrated today by the godless. The Bible says the sins of the fathers are taken to future generations at times. I tragically lost a young child, but I never, ever blamed God, for He is the author of life. If mankind had followed God's original path, death would never have touched any of us. It's easy to cast presumptive judgment on the Divine, but we do so at our own peril.

@@rickcamacho9079 what an awful, awful person you are. Abortion is not "celebrated." It's an ugly, unfortunate choice that has to be made in some circumstances. You think that anybody throws a party when they get an abortion? It says a lot about you that you resort to lying when you're trying to prove a point. Abortion is also not "child murder" because a fetus is not a child. The Bible does not consider the unborn to be full persons since Exodus 21:22 describes a scenario in which the punishment for causing a miscarriage is just a monetary fine. Furthermore, Numbers 5:11-31 describes a procedure for priests to determine if a wife has committed adultery by forcing her to drink "bitter water" and causing abortion (or to be more exact, "divine judgment" by miscarriage and infertility). And on the topic of miscarriage, God is actually responsible for billions of abortions because according to your religion, God decides when a fetus is not meant to be carried to term whenever a miscarriage happens. Of course you would say that God has the sole right to abortion since he is "the author of life," but I say that not holding your leaders (including your deity) to the same moral standards that you hold yourself to is a form of moral bankruptcy. In other words, your morality is not worthy of any respect if you say "OK" when God commands such atrocities as genocide. Thus you have no right to condemn anyone for doing anything wrong if they say that God told them to do it because maybe God did tell them. Child murder? Child rape? All OK if God tells someone to do it. When you offload personal responsibility onto God, you no longer have a moral leg to stand on. I'll just leave you with this thought: Jesus said, "Judge not lest ye be judged." You've demonstrated yourself to be a bad Christian by judging (in God's place) people who get abortions and people who support abortion rights/access generally. No sob stories can absolve you from being a bad Christian. You deserve nothing but scorn if you act morally superior without walking the path yourself.
