is there a way of doing this but leaving the number of elements as a changeable variable in a function?

That is precisely what I did. Check the end of the video that shows GlobalStiffnessFunction a function that returns a global stiffness matrix after it is fed with input parameters

@@mtzmechengr5781 Okay thank you for your reply. I have a specific problem where I need to assemble the global stiffness matrix of a beam which has been meshed with a single line of quad elements where the number of elements is a function input. Any suggestions on how to do this?
