This is the second part of a video where Igor Solunskiy talks about the development of helmets in the territory of Kievan Rus and the Western Slavic states in the Middle Ages.
The region we are discussing had very unique conditions: it was influenced by Scandinavian peoples from the North, nomads from the East and European states from the West. This led to the mixing and unification of different concepts of warfare typical for the mentioned cultures, and - as we shall see - to creation of interesting hybrid helmets and a wide spread of both western and eastern type armament.
