Hi Greg, absolutely loving this series!! So many underrated female artists out there. I remember watching this on TV back in the day, which was a double whammy, not only a very petite Suzi Q playing what looked like a huge bass, but out there front and centre singing as well!! Just how many girls did she inspire to get out there and as Annie Lennox and Aretha Franklin so rightly state...”Sisters are doing it for themselves” Keep groovin Bryn

Glad you like the series Bryn, it's really fun and interesting for me too! I'm looking at another of Suzi's bass lines at the moment. She was certainly a trailblazer and still is! Cheers

Great artist and song choice Greg! Suzi was always underrated. Really cool bass line that I will definitely add to my song list. Thanks as always Greg.

Cheers Frank. I really like this song and the bass line works so well. Checked out some live footage of Suzi from the 70s and it’s great!

This is a great tune to play along with, the one one thing I remember from seeing Suzi Live back in the mists of time was how petite she was and how huge her Bass looked, but boy! could she make it sing.

Brilliant Cliff, you saw Suzi live! I was really impressed when I isolated her bass line from this tune and had a listen. Great tone and really solid.

Hi Greg, Three times in total and what a powerhouse, such an iconic voice and stage presence then her pounding Precision Bass was an absolute eye opener.

Wow, it gets even better Cliff! I remember very clearly the effect that hearing an amazing bass tone live can have on you. I once saw Gov't Mule live and the P=Bass sound of the bass player just got me and I still to this day model my sound on what I heard.

Wow! Thanks Greg. Middle of the night here in NSW but I can’t wait to play this one. Might have to use my cavern bass instead of the UBass to get to fret 19 haha. Love your lessons. They transport me to a place where I can relax and have fun.

Well done for being awake Ruth! You further backed up my reason for making this particular lesson with your message last week so thanks for that. Send it to your son too 😀 You can play that slide on the 14th fret of the D string if you want.

Suzi is somewhat under rated, simple bass lines but they fit the songs she was playing well.

Greg, why not do Daytona demon by Suzy Quatro? I absolutely love this one. The Bass is brilliant and she sings this amazingly.
