Remember going there on the way to the outerbanks as kids in the 70s. Took my niece and daughter just 2 years ago. It was winter so it was dark when we arrived about 7 pm. A man was there with infrared cameras and a spirit box. He was a paranormal researcher with a podcast “our haunted lives” so it was fun seeing the equipment readings and all. It was eerie, saw shadows off into the woods and some odd sounds just off into the woods.

I cowrote a local ghost story collection, and one of the tools I used listening to these stories was that I always believed people who, when whatever happened, said it took a minute to understand what happened. Thier brains just go into scientific method trying to figure out what just happened. You don't usually take immediate action when something freaky is happening. It took me a minute to realize I couldn't hear anything at all in one of these spots (Beaver Creek State Park in Ohio next to the Pretty Boy Floyd Fell Here sign). I could see a hawk flying, but couldn't hear one bird in the acres and acres of flora around me. It was like 'eww this spot feels creepy. Why? Holy cow there is no noise at all!" Then goosebumps. Then nope nope nope I am leaving this are. It's that moment that's the most telling.

When a bunch of drunk teenagers light up a fire every other day and night , I guess nothing will grow 😂

That's nothing supernatural. It's common to some grassy areas to be less to not growing plants. Also, ppl coming and stepping on it, camping fire and destroying it keeps difficult to see something growing.
