This news would have been worse if Monty hadn’t just signed a six time all star and three time all NBA vet. It does explain why Carter was still on the board at 13.

G league guys on a two way contract can play up to 50 games with the main squad. I do t like the idea of Jordan Ford but maybe Boogie Ellis or Mason Jones can play those 50 games or so until he gets reevaluated

Monte knew all this for sure. He said drafting Carter is about the future. Carter is a good player and the time will go by quickly and he’ll be on the court again. Chet was out his whole first year. MPJ had back surgery and was out. If a player is good and the injury isn’t horrendous, they will bounce back. Chill. So many haters on here.

Not worried about Carter, Coach Brown doesn't really play rookies anyway, maybe he will be a lift late in the season next year. Let's look forward to what is next I think K9 needs to back up Demar and run with 3 guards. If there was another move would that have kept us from having cap flex or how big was that price tag? This roster isn't done yet let's see what Monte does with the FOUR months before the season starts

How can Matt George even ask this question before seeing the guy play a single NBA game? If early injuries were the bar separating good picks from bad ones, then Steph Curry and Joel Embiid should be trash. The answer to George's question is how the hell do we possibly know yet. Obviously none of this is particularly ideal, but it could be years before we know whether or not this was the right pick, for a guy projected to go around the 4th pick on the one mock draft I saw. Besides that, Carter was going to see less time than Sasha Vezenkov in his first six months with the team, considering we have Fox, DeRozan, Monk, Ellis and Huerter, all five guards being ahead of Carter on any current depth chart. I realize that we're in the dog days of Summer, and it can't be easy coming up with new talking points for a basketball show in the off-season of the NBA, yet nevertheless the question is pointless.

Carter has a Top 5 outlook. He might have fallen due to his injury but he is the best defender in this draft and he still fell to us at 13. McNair and Brown are trying to add more defensive players. Carter is that and can even be a good offensive threat. Carter will be a huge boost to the roster once he gets back.
