There are exactly 100'000 NPCs running around, and then some more entities (trees etc..)
Back from my vacation this week, so I decided to do some more optimizations. I chose 100k units running around at 60 FPS, as an arbitrary target. The rendering is currently mostly single threaded (also it's rendered using OpenGL 1.1), so it doesn't give a lot of FPS when zoomed out. This can be fixed quite easily when/if the need comes.
I'm planning on having a large world with lots of stuff going on, but it wont be anything nearly as dense as in this video. Everything will be more spread out.
