In Levi (Levee) we trust! (French correct way to say it). We couldn't be any happier to have this young man as a Buffalo Sabres!

@@user-ut6pu1um5b trust me I get where ur coming from. However I meet family and friends of Devon. They were the one's who told me. However, the Levi family is so layed back that it's now just something they roll with. Look at how many times Hasek name was mispronounced. Nobody knew the correct way to say his name. You learn to roll with it. If I was in the NHL, nobody would be able to say my last name correctly. I would just learn to roll with whatever was easiest for everyone. At the end of the day nobody cares and it's just a name. All we all care about is performance and Levi can definitely perform! He is the chosen one who will help bring the Sabres a cup and balance to the force.

@@gutetime3039 what a great experience. I'm glad you had. a friend has also encountered Levi and friends/family; by their story as well, they all seem a great group of people. still, i might ask the man himself when i meet him. (although, a letter to a newspaper quotes Hašek as mispronouncing his own name when asked -- goalies! 🙃). i will probably say as in the short unless he announces otherwise. thank you for sharing. 👍☺

The way he'll go flat and be so active with his glove hand seemed familiar to me, and it could just be that athleticism paired with that height but he gives me shades of Jonathan Quick.

glad it's not just us. we chuckled a bit at the title and main pic. then at the fact that there are five whole minutes. he's played nhl for ten seconds -- is it every single save? ..then i thought maybe it would have his earlier work, to show everyone who hasn't had the privilege what the hype has been about and why he is where he is. ..watched it, just nhl. still, some fantastic saves. looking forward to more.

The thing that's impressive is Levi came in in the midst of the playoff battle that Buffalo was in played in CRUCIAL games and was spectacular in most of them. For a 21YO rookie goalie that's impressive

He will be like every other goalie in the NHL now and in recent times and rely totally on the system he plays in. There are no dominant goalies anymore like there use to be just system goalies who's stats are more of an indication of the team in front of them than the goalie themself. For example this year it's Linus Ullmark, he is putting up stats that Hasek did when Hasek was the first goalie in a long time to post a GAA under 2.0. Does anyone really think Ullmark is even remotely close to as good as Hasek, no(well maybe if you live in New England area you might). Another example of the new system goalie is look at how many different goalies there are in the top 5 in save % and gaa every year. It's almost different every year and that difference is more about the team in front of them. Back in the day take the 90s for example, you knew who the great goalies where(Roy, Belfour, Hasek) and then the next tier(Joseph, Potvin, Richter, to name a few) down and so on.
@HoweyJR_

That makes no sense because all of the great goalies had teams
@brianlb78
Жыл бұрын
@@HoweyJR_ No, not really. Some had good teams some average. The difference is the great goaltenders where still great even on average or bad teams. I'll use Ullmark as an example again, he is 29 years old had average stats most of his career. Now all of the sudden his stats look amazing all due to the team in front of him. Now look at Hasek when he was in Buffalo. He had an average team that he carried, there is a big difference between goalies now and back then. Even look more recently with Ryan Miller and Roberto Luongo(when in their prime), those two carried their teams they weren't good because of their teams their teams where good because of them. You can't say that now about any goalie really and it's been that way for a while. Or look at Vaslivesky now, everyone thought he was the greatest goalie every but the team in front of him was amazing, now that team with much of the same core is older, slower, etc, still a decent team but his stats aren't nearly as good because he is on a team that isn't dominant like it use to be. He is a good goalie but he is not a goalie that can carry a team.

@@brianlb78 ullmark was on the worst team in Sabres franchise history please don’t leave out important info & he still had under a 3GAA & +900 save pct
@brianlb78

@@HoweyJR_ 75% of the goalies in the league have a gaa under 3 and a save % over 900. Bottom line is he isn't the one carrying the Bruins this year just like he hasn't carried a team before and it doesn't matter if he was on one of the worst teams, great goalies carry bad teams that is what makes someone a great goalie. Look what Roy did in 93, t hat team was good but not great he carried that team with 10 OT victories in the playoffs. Hasek did it for the Sabres, Lunogo did it for the Panthers, heck he set the record at the time for most shots/saves in a season. None of these guys now are doing anything like that. That's why the Vezina finalists are so different every year because they are system goalies.
@bjarczyk

This is a very good argument you are making here but I still disagree. I think people don't realize that goalies take time to develop. Ullmark was showing good signs with Buffalo here and there. He bailed the Sabres out in a lot of games, and many of them they still lost. I think he just started breaking out with the Bruins.
