I've had this saw for years. Only used 2 functions of it. Had to use it today for an awkward cut... and had I known it could do half of these abilities today's cuts would have been a thousand times easier. Decided to look up hack saw functions and came across this review. Amazing! Now looking for cuts that I've been avoiding around the house because I "thought" I didn't have tools.

Damn I had this bad boy for like 2 years, used it in the field cut thousands of sticks of ½ ¾ 1 and 1¼ EMT and NEVER knew about the features other than the straight cut and 45 degree. I put the wood blade on the end like you showed but never knew I could detach the end to use as a handle for Jab saw. So I tried using it as a drywall saw with the whole big handle and it was awkward as fuck So I never used it again. The saw ended up getting stolen off the job site and I wasn't going to spend the extra money it cost again for a new one cause I figured it was only good for straight and 45degree but now I know and I will get another one. Thank you!

One thing I’ve learned is that when you take the front handle off, you have to make sure it’s fully seated so the back of the black handle lines up with the diagonal lines on the body. I thought it was on, but couldn’t get the hacksaw blade on. So I had to whack it a couple of times to get the front handle fully seated so I could get enough release to mount the hacksaw blade.

Same thing happened to me. It only became clear after removing the screw at the tip. There is a diagonal line on the body that the front handle should line up with if its installed correctly.

Damn. Had one of these for a long time but was never able to use it, though having found this video, I'll be able to use it next time a need comes up. Had no idea how versatile this tool is. DeWalt really screwed up by not including instructions with the saw (you know, like literally everyone else does?). It wasn't as easy as the video makes it look--I had to take a hammer and screwdriver to the handle to knock it loose so I could open it up to attach and tighten the blade. DeWalt is not a company I can recommend to anyone, but at least now I have a good hack saw, assuming it works well and holds up with use.

That was funny, about pull back the black part below the handle and pull it down. Ha ha. I pulled back, and my hand slipped back every time. I put 23" Channel locks on the black part, and got news for ya. That part don't move back. Got any suggestions? Ok, I got FlatHead ScrewDriver held on the front edge of black part, tapped it with a hammer. It Moved! Lubed the parts with Petroleum Jelly. Good video though. Thanks. Now I am a subscriber.

Replacing an old hacksaw I bought when I was a teen-ager. I went to purchase a replacement blade and was not able to find one at 10 1/4 inches which is what my very old, simple, and antiquated hacksaw took. I decided to upgrade to a 12 inch blade since that was all I was finding available anymore. I picked this hacksaw after doing some research and I love it. My old hacksaw served it's purpose, but this one is just light years ahead of it. I only wish it was made in America and not China.

I'm conflicted about this hacksaw. I have one but I am thinking of returning it. It's trying to do too much for one thing and the lever to change the blade is real hard to release. I had to stick a screwdriver to wedge it out. It's tight. It might be a little too heavy too. You will probably be running around look for the parts to put it back together, if you even bother. I think I'll go for the Milwaukee hacksaw that is a little simpler and about $7 cheaper and not as heavy and simpler to use. This reminds me the Dewalt box cutter I once bought. It is a pain to change the blade, while others make it so easy to change blade. I really shouldn't have really figure how to change the blade every time I try to replace one. So I think I convinced myself. I guess if someone gave me one as a present, I could deal with it. It's not terrible. But I wouldn't use the attachment to cut things and prefer to just have it be separate tool.

I've changed my mind and decided to keep it after looking at all its uses. It has a good feel to it also, once you get used to it. The long reach was missed but its actually a good feature if you need to go into an area you cannot reach.

Lmao my husband bought one at the flea market. No box no guide no info from the seller. I used it today and threw it over the fence not thinking. Well i thought i broke it. So i looked online how to put it back together because i saw arrows on the thing. Didnt know this damn thing had 5 features in one. I showed my husband all these features 😂 he didnt know about. He just thought it was a simple hack saw he could use for electrical construction.

this is the second ( as in 1 then 2 ) video I have seen on this saw by an American, and both of you ( as in 1 then 2 ) only showed 4 ways ( as in 1- 2- 3- 4 ) so I have to ask can't you guys count up to 5, this a 5 in 1 saw, not a 4 in 1 saw, by the way mine says made in China on 1 part and made in Germany on another, and it is not a knock off saw. I will give you 4 out of 5 for your effort, as the video is very informative, I think like you that I am going to like this saw a lot, so thanks for the upload. and sorry about the tongue in cheek jibe.

Yeah no. The single most complicated useless unworkable and fragile tension mechanism ever designed. New saw at work. I had to force the mechanism open slightly. Use a puddy knife to loosen the tensioner. Once open the mechanism sticks and jams because of paint and poor fit.. I gave up after a frustrating twenty minutes.
