Thanks. Very useful overview of the saw. The information on the possible adjustments is very helpful. Unfortunately, I have had to return two of these devices due to large deviations in the surface flatness - 3 mm across the 480 mm at the front of the saw, with a hump near the rightmost mitre slot. The manufacturing quality checks seem to be non-existent, and here in the UK it is not a cheap saw.

Hi congratulations for the review, certainly among the most complete on the web, I have a DeWalt DWE 7485 table saw with a problem on the right angle between the guide and the table surface from the lower part of the guide, I have a good millimeter of difference, I have followed your retail review hoping to find a solution but sadly DISAPPOINTMENT!!!! as I imagined there is no solution, if by chance you find one and let me know I would be infinitely grateful, thanks.

Thank you for your comment. I apologize for not being able to help you with this video. I think that it is better to attach a self-made cover to the existing rip fence to correct the right angle between the rip fence and the table surface. If there is an opportunity, I would like to put out such a video.

Could you tell me where you got the sliding attachment for the ruler when you were adjusting the distance from the blade to the mitre slot at 12:11 ? Did you make it yourself, or can it be bought?

Thank you for your comment. In Japan where I live, you can buy rulers with stoppers.(may not be available in your area) amzn.to/425PN8V I think you will have to make your own simple measuring jig or use a dial indicator. Sorry for not being of help.

@@tiny-cabin-woodworks Thanks. I'm in the UK. I see that such rulers are available on ebay, so I will get one from there. I have now received a DWE7485 unit with a good flat surface, and I have used your video to perform the adjustments. It's very helpful to be able to refer to a video when doing so - the booklet that comes with the device is hard to follow. Thanks very much. I made one change though. To align the blade, I took a piece of 30 mm aluminium box section (whose size I checked with digital calipers) and placed this between the fence and the blade at the front. (I had already aligned the fence to the mitre slot using your method). I checked that the blade teeth were just touching the aluminium section when rotated by hand at the front, then I moved the section to the back of the blade, and adjusted it until the teeth just touched the section at the back. This method seems to be fairly accurate (good enough for woodworking) and fairly quick too.
