One thing I think you skipped over is that if you choose the 1st speed setting its good for setting screws in more delicate situations, like hanging doors. This is pretty huge because it means the impact driver can be used not just for its "muscle" but also where finesse is needed. More verastile and as a result its my go-to driver.

I touch on the 3 detent speeds, since this is more comparing the two impacts and they both have that feature it didn’t seem necessary to comment further on what each speed is used for. Further most impacts in this price range have that feature as well.

I’m a year late to the party and I’m really late to the power tool game. I’m 37 and I just learned how to use power tools so I’m embarrassed to say it. I just invested in drills and impact driver and I bought the brushed combo ones at first and I ended up buying the dcf850 cuz my new job I always have to work in tight areas and the DCF850 is a great investment for me. The DCF850 Is my fave in my toolbox.

Basically, any new tool branded Atomic is one they took the XR version and shrunk down without sacrificing performance. I bought a $320 kit with the DCF850 and a compact hammer drill, worth every cent.
@ToolsThatBuild
Жыл бұрын
Originally the atomic line was a cheaper built no frills tool. They usually sold them in kits with 1.5ah batteries with no gauges etc. the price wasn’t low enough to justify the lack of features. They stopped producing those tools and revamped the atomic line up, now they are compact XR but if you buy some of the older atomic tools they are a subpar tool so yes the new ones are good but be careful what your getting because the atomic badge doesn’t always represent value.

Two words "plenty of Torque" kzitem.infoUgkxW1vOBRCMrgTCDEijzpVzDWsgI-Jm2iQv well I guess that's three. Nice upgrade from current setup. Has belt clips, I don't think I will be using those. Driver and drill were bigger than what I expected but it is an upgrade from the current setup. For the money I would say that this is a great setup for Professionals and DIY/Weekend warriors.

Incorrect, same housing and gears inside. You can find lots of examples of them opened up online. The atomic is still geared at the professional to medium heavy use user. Craftsman is the homeowner brand to compete with ryobi.
