I love how you kept fiddling with the KAP 140 exactly what I was doing, it's not arming the ALT. Weird AP behaviour it would sometime trim you all the way up and stall you. It's not your speed, it's just bugged.

So basically, setting an altitude number in the autopilot is meaningless - you just have to use the v-speed up or down and then manually tell it to hold at whatever altitude you want to hold at, which pays no attention to the number in the altitude setting.

This could just be a bug that needs to be fixed. It really should hold the set altitude once it reaches the setting if the autopilot is on. Maybe the V-speed is not shutting off like it should when the altitude is reached.

Look at the Heading Indicator dial on the cockpit dashboard (aircraft image) on either side of the Heading Indicator there are two dials on the right side is the heading bug dial. Set that dial to the heading you want. The head bug will move on the heading indicator as you turn the dial. When you have the autopilot turned on you turn on the heading mode button and it will follow the heading you have set using the heading bug dial.

@@uischirock You set the heading mode on using the button on the autopilot panel. Then on the instrument panel in front of the yoke you see a heading indicator (it has an aircraft image on it) This is where you set your compass heading and heading bug using the small round dials below and on either side. The autopilot when turned on will follow the heading bug setting if you turn on heading mode button.
