Excellent video! No place else on the net can you find this info on these Diacro machines. Very helpful, thanks for posting this!

Thanks for the kind words. I'll report back in a couple of weeks on leaks. I was successful on the right side (from back) with this technique. Fingers crossed it works on the left side. It's a nice old machine.

I just picked up the same model press from an estate sale. What is the right oil to use in the hydraulic system? Do you know?

The manual (1972) calls for non-detergent hydraulic oil SAE 20 (Mobil DTE Heavy Medium or equivalent). That would be ISO 46 or 68 in today's spec. I'd go with ISO 68 (heavier) given the machine's age. Pacific Press Technologies owns the rights to the DiAcro press brakes. Contact them @ (800) 851-3586 or visit www.pacific-press.com Good luck with the press brake.

Thank you! I hadn’t been able to find a manual for the press anywhere. I appreciate the help.

@@rowycoracing U R Welcome. Be careful with manuals offered on eBay. Some are of poor quality. Pacific Press may be able to email you some documentation. Those machines are decades old now so information & parts are of limited availability. Be careful moving that machine. Good luck and work safely.

Hi - Sorry about that. The shim is 5/8" ID x 1" OD x 0.015" thick. McMaster P/N 90482A326. Caution on making sure you allow for the chamfer. I went to .030" on both end bells. It is tight on the one side and about 90% so on the other side. I don't leak fluid but will ingest air if the machine sits for weeks without running. This tightens up the seal pack and reduces this problem. I had lots of air coming in before I reduced the shims. And also the usual fluid drips when making bends. Something else I found out, clean your dies with WD40 and leave a small residue. Metal will skid on the lower die and the WD40 helps balance this out between front and back. Hope this helps.
