Have you tried playing Warframe, Now I get it crafting with timers pay to win. Don't let that get to you been playing since I was invited to play there alpha just 2 months prior to there release of the first closed beta in 2012, Now the game has seen so many changes since. Yes there are timers and yes you can speed them up with plat, But here is the big thing there is so much to do in Warframe it is daunting. We used to joke about the 100hrs just to get into warframe But now a days it would be like 150hrs of pure enjoyment in early progression gaming. One thing I would recommend is don't join the content creator program until you have read the rules in there entirety and reach out to CM's if you have questions or clarity about rules, Some CC's have been banned even for simply miss interpreting the rules. So I say play it safe play and enjoy a Long grind and you will get there in no time, We usually have new content every 3-6 months. Coming up we are going to be getting new back story as well as new Warframe called Jade.

It's hilarious that they'd consider this an encouragement. Practically no one was worried Microsoft would ruin Blizzard, we have all been hoping they'd force some changes and make Blizzard less like the Blizzard we all know. And, to add, the Mojang team for Minecraft is incredibly lazy, putting out low-effort content at an obscenely slow rate. They add almost nothing and just sit back collecting profits while fans keep begging them to do work. Their last 2 years of updates are less then two months of design/implementation for a small studio; PirateSoftware and others have shown this, and he even said the two years of content implementation could be "done in a day," and that Mojang is shameful for how they operate. They take existing mods and do poor jobs copying them to the maingame. Giving Blizzard access to them? What are they going to do, take two years to figure out how to add Plunderstorm's existing spectator mode to retail raids? The only up-side is that they're clearly NOT busy with their day jobs and are thus available to be lent out.

As a decade long gw2 player, you will only love it if you go in with the mindset that its not a gear treadmill; gw2 has horizontal progression depending on what you WANT to do. Its a very casual friendly game that doesn't punish you for not playing every day. my decade old legendary great sword is still as good now as it was then. I would 100% recommend GW2, I started playing it a few days ago and it's amazing. The game values your time a lot and is super casual friendly, whenever you get new gear or eventually a new mount from a long grind it's unlocked for the entire account and can be used on any character also there is no death penalty in the game if you die you can just respawn at any quick travel point and there is no gear durability or repairs. The game can be a little rough in the start with the graphics and movement style but it gets better. Unlike wow the game doesn't have quests, it's more like world quests that you can do while lvling for completing maps and is a cool system, you even have some really amazing jumping puzzles you can do for a big reward. The combat is also very interesting with elite specializations you can unlock at max level and the best part is the entire game is free all the way till max lvl at 80, the only downside is that mounts and elite specs are locked behind buying expansions :(

I wanna say both ESO and GW2 are incredibly nice companion game MMOs where you can easily take breaks and resume without missing out. Both games has a ton of casual content. I would say that New World as a design is like a mix of these games but it has way less story and less casual activities but a bit more gathering and crafting, and more randomized loot. If that helps. :) I think all three of those MMOs could work well for you guys as a starting point so it's hard to say which one.

"Dofus" is a decent mmo that can be as casual or hardcore you want. It's a 2d turn-based mmorpg made by a French company that's been out for about 20 years. The classes, combat, and general feel of the game are quite good and can be as hardcore or casual as you want. However, I should note the game has a small English community and it can feel a bit grindy at times as well as being more PVP focused recently. I also suggest trying other multiplayer things that aren't "mmos" per se such as Fallout 76, Ark, Minecraft, 7 days to die, Stardew Valley, or something along this vein. It is nice to be able to control your "experience" with the game to some degree when time isn't as plentiful as it once was (getting old sucks sometimes lol).

I tried playing that game a couple years ago with some friends. They make it REALLY troublesome if you want to do story missions together unless everyone is playing the exact same class/race/whatever.
@Xariann
5 ай бұрын
@@Seanidor Unless they changed it, it's actually harder to have the same class. The progress one player makes towards their class doesn't count for the other player so you have to redo the same class mission twice. Whereas playing different classes is easier with a couple. All class quests take you to the same areas, they are just in slightly different rooms. you get to see each other's story and you help them with the fighting bits. So unless they have changed this recently I have to disagree with this post.

Guildwars 2 can be really hard to get into at first, it took me a long, long time to really figure out what the fuck was really going on but then I fell in love with it. It's super casual and really fun to explore and dive into. My only issue is its not the best game for small groups or even 2 people, its great for solo players or guilds/huge groups. I think it has to do with the difficulty, most activities feel well balanced for 1 person or 50 people. One of the big goals for new players is grinding out the mounts. Its a ton of fun because the grinds are not what you'd expect, its not kill 100 enemies a day for a week or repeat the same activity 20 times until it drops. Instead, they have you traveling around their beautifully detailed world which feels very alive because all of the quests in the game (even new ones) have you traveling back to old zones, completing fun challenges and playing through a story. It's hard to explain but the rewarding feeling you get once you finally unlock a new mount and it just opens up so many new ways to get around their massive world is so exciting it makes you want to keep going. Nonetheless im not a huge MMO guy but i found myself randomly pouring hundreds of hours into the game with no regrets, there is no sub fee or gear grind so I can come back whenever they announce something cool or I simply get the itch to play :)

LOTRO has some real strengths. The pros: The lore is great and the game is very faithful to the books. Great player community. Crafting is useful; you can make gear that is every bit as good as what you get for drops in open world leveling. Decent seasonal events with plenty of mounts and cosmetics to be earned. The cons: If you want PvP, you're out of luck, as PvP is almost nonexistent these days. Leveling a character by playing the storyline quests is fun and engaging until you get to around lvl 40, or so, and then it gets very grindy, with a lot of repetition and fetch-it quests.

ESO would be perfect for 2players now because they released couple of months ago 2 player hard endgame content. Also game it self is kinda build around solo-co-op for the first 100-200 hours due to shee amount of story and content, however if u get to the end game its abit tricky because the power creep is real and high end groups are hard to establish and manage, i have 5000+ hours on steam and probably around 3000 hours before the game came to steam. sowith 8k hours i would say its still one of the best out there.

I've played a lot of different MMOs, and I don't think there is a better choice for a casual MMO to play with a friend or loved one than Elder Scrolls Online. There is a large and friendly player community. The "One Tamriel" scaling mechanic is awesome, allowing characters of different levels to play together as equals on any content in the game, so if you and your girlfriend get out of sync on leveling, it will not impact you at all when playing together. One Tamriel also makes the game a true open-world experience. Crafting is great in ESO. You can make really good gear for your characters, and there is no limit on how many crafting professions you can learn. The game is still being expanded with regular releases of new content and it looks like it will be around for a long time.

If you look for a good MMO to play casually, then don't look further than Guild Wars 2. Positives: - Easy to play with a high ceiling on some classes to master - Easy to level (no grinding mobs or dungeons for exp, just walk around and explore the world) - quite the numbers of people to play with - mostly friendly community (the exception would be raiding and Fractals which are both endgame content) - The maps have a billion of events happening which are for the most part relatively boring with horde defense, escort and the usual stuff, but there are also Massive world events that happen locally in a big area or even across the entire map - Endgame content isn't too hard to get into if you have a motivated guild - gear is easy to get in Exotic (second highest tier). Ascended might be a different story for a beginner but you don't really need it, it is only needed for minmaxing in raids (to tickle out the last 5k dps on classes that reach up to 42k and raids requiering at worst 15k on each dps to clear which is an absolute nonisue) and for fractals where you need a specific upgrade that can be done only on ascended gear - insane amount of armor sets, costumes and dyes to play some Fashion wars - almost 0 grind needed (getting some legys might need you to run a buttload of events or farm maps for ressources but most of the ressources can be bought) - it is a buy once, play as much as you want system, with the basegame being free but limited in some aspects (not playtime) and the shop currency can be bough with ingame gold (a full version of the game costs around 130€ so not too much anyway) - a metric ton of different long term goals like achivements or legendary gear (same stats as ascended gear so it is no required to minmax but you can swap your stats on it and transmog infinitely for free) - wipes in raids cost only the time you spent on the encounter because there is no trash clearing/respawning or long walks back to the boss - big variety in difficulties on classes, from easy to learn and mediocre to master, to play 3 bethoven operas at once while explaining Einsteins relativity theory just to learn it - almost no FOMO, the little fomo that they had they got rid a long time ago and only a few player even remember those events Negatives: - Raids are basically forgotten and probably won't get any new ones, they were replaced by Strikes (which isn't that bad because strikes are just singled out raid bosses with no buildup) - A little too much focus on shop skins imo - Most open world events are irrelevant. - since A-Net decided to want every class to fill every role, many classes lost their identity and are distributet in 4 branches: Condition DPS, Power DPS, Boon DPS (supportive dps covering one of the 2 essential boons) and Healer (covering the second essential boon and basically all the other boons while healing/tanking) - the fractal community is absolutely ridiculous, requiring insane Kill Proofs (only possible to enter if you have a guild to run with or someone to open groups for you until you have a descend amount) - The Story in the base game is relatively meh, specially in how it is told, but it ramps up with every dlc and just the last dlc was a big dip down. But all in all, it is a great game to play, specially casually. i myself with 10-12k hours am not playing daylie and I'm not missing anything important. 100% recomended.

for game recommendations: the most casual friendly, co-op game I can think of is Warframe it's a looter shooter, F2P, system requirements are less than D4, and it has a consistent player base for a reason there are times where you and your GF might need to split up, but they are few and far between. the biggest exceptions are the story quests, which, tbh...is probably gonna make up about 20 hours tops out of the 100+ hours to get through it all and not all quests will be like that. just the big cinematic ones if you want 100% uptime on the co-op though... Have you heard of the critically acclaimed MMORPG Final Fantasy XIV? With an expanded free trial which you can play through the entirety of A Realm Reborn and the award-winning Heavensward, and thrilling Stormblood expansions up to level 70 for free with no restrictions on playtime. I do not regret the Copypasta, this game deserves it. ARR is a bit of a slog, but do not make the mistake I did and skip over the story. you will regret it

While it's not a classic "MMO", I'd love to see your take on Destiny 2. It has dungeons, raids, build crafting, and the loot chase of mmo's and arpg's.

God, don't take any advice from the guys that made ESO, that game coul've been the best MMO out in the genre, and because the trash combat it has, it's probably the worst of the "famous" MMOs in the genre, I'd love to play the game, because the Elder Scrolls lore is good, and that game has basically everything in that IP, but me and my friends hated the gameplay, even if we loved everything else, a game can't be good if the gameplay is bad, and ESO gameplay is the worst I've seen in any game I've played.

IDK if you're at all into the superhero/villain genre or not. City of Heroes/Villains, which launched close to WoWs date is relicensed by NCsoft. They shutdown around when GW2 launched. It's since been revived and expanded on by the community. It's free, City of Heroes Homecoming is the licensed site if interested. Give a different suggestion I thought than the standards per say.

I'd vote FFXIV. As a former WoW player and MMO's going back to EQ, I find this game perfect for me. It allows you to either play as casual as you want or bang to get to endgame content if that's your thing. I have 3000 hours in it and have never done a hardcore raid. My gear is decent. There's a new expansion coming in I think June. You would have plenty of time to get through MSQ and be ready for the expansion. You guys could go through the MSQ together. I love the the catch up mechanics to be able to pick up gear if you take a break. Like has been said, although the story starts slow, by the time you get to Heavensward expansion, you'll understand why people are so loyal. The only negative is it's a monthly subscription. That's 2 of them for you guys. You could start with the free and decide if you want to commit later. It's a really good game.

An old school game that i still play time to time is iruna online. Its a mobile game but you can use blue stacks on pc to play it on there and still connect to people on mobile. It has classes, skills, equipment to farm, thousands of mobs, hundreds of bosses, constantly updated to this day with new content being pumped out. Meta changes quite frequently so theres typically a chance to up your max damage output every few months. Iruna is only a PvE content game though so that can throw people off sometimes.

I played GW2 with my wife for years is fun casual game not sure you will like the lateral gear system as that is the turn off for most people. But is fun game with years of content and what I think is one of the coolest mount systems as the mounts do different things to help you navigate the world rather than just run/fly to decrease travel time.

My guy, you really described GW2 with what you were saying you're looking for: - as far as I can tell it's the best MMO to progress with a partner. I personally know at least 5 couples that do most if not all things together in-game - it's b2p, so you can drop it and pick it up whenever without any hassle of unsubbing - it can get overwhelming at first but it's very casual friendly difficulty wise - also it does a lot of stuff different (good) from other MMOs, you'd be surprised of some of the features These are a few things that came to mind based on what you were saying you're looking for. There's a lot more good stuff about it than this.

I don't think Blizzard talking to the ESO devs about what's worked is a good thing. I've played ESO since the beta, and I have never seen a dev team make so many stupid mistakes, let stupid game breaking bugs fly, or just make outright bad decisions that break entire classes or systems. They PTR everything and almost never listen. They are the most incompetent dev team of any MMO i've played in the last 20 years...

It does have issues and is not perfect, but as far as build your own play, your own way it it doesnt get any better.
