My channel started out with me basically explaining away the possibility of having Autism Spectrum Disorder with personality traits which seemed like just as good an explanation for why some people like me identify with Autism. A while later, after talking to multiple mental health professionals and obsessive studying, I went against my own advice and owned up to Schizotypal Personality Disorder even with personality trait explanations, making it an essential part of my identity which has been rewarding because it has things I can identify clearly as merits to feel good about.
I have really enjoyed representing it on the subreddit r/Schizotypal and here on KZitem and have even started forming schemas for thinking about it and dealing with its challenges, so to move forward properly I am now talking to a PhD psychologist who was qualified to give me a psychological evaluation and diagnoses.
Here are my diagnoses:
Autism Spectrum Disorder, Without Intellectual Impairment, With Language Impairment, Level 1
Bipolar II
Schizotypal Personality Disorder
ADHD, Predominantly Inattentive Type
So with the official stamps in hand I am feeling emboldened to continue exploring the nature of these disorders, and in this video I begin attempting to parse out Schizotypal and Autism Spectrum Disorder which overlap in some surprising ways. I also dive into the touchy topic of the reclusive side of Schizotypal which is made extra complicated because it seems that often people with Autism Spectrum Disorder also have some loner tendencies. Please enjoy!
