Cylinder contribution means that specific cylinder is not contributing as much relative to the others, hence the name. It's checked or derived by crank acceleration/deceleration over time based on a specified fuel amount to be delivered and checked against known good data supplied by ford. You also would 100% need to update the injector codes or program each injectors spot in the engine or contribution codes can and will be present...... The reason being is injector programming essentially gives the PCM the injectors electrical response time and thus the flow rate of that specific injector relative to injector on time. Just FYI Contribution codes have nothing to do with electrical connection of the injector, those would be injector circuit codes.... IE: circuit Open, circuit short to power or short to ground. By you fixing your issue with a PCM swap you either had a bad/poor connection on the PCM connector, wrongly programmed injector, needed a PCM update via IDS which would relax/open up the acceptable "contributing window", or you could of had an injector driver circuit starting to go bad in the PCM itself but it wasn't bad enough to the point of setting a circuit code. So if this truly fixed your issue via a PCM swap and the code doesn't return, it was more than likely to be one of those things. If it does return and you have access to IDS, try a relative compression test, if that checks out well I'd swap out the injector on the cylinder with an issue.

Same here, happening to cylinder 6. Than after about a 1,000 miles later, My 2012 blew up driving 70 on the freeway. Rod went straight down and cracked the block.

From a buddy who owns a shop :/ not much help sorry. The larger pins on the bottom are the injector positives and negatives. Bottom row is 16 larger pins
