Thank you very much for the video. I am having the exact same problem. Where did you get the service manual? That would be extremely helpful.

A bit overkill on the disassembly just to test the defrost circuit. Just pull the drawer set and pop the back cover off for plenty of access!

All those tests could have be done from the main board and avoid unnecessary disassembly. That’s my opinion.

Indeed. That's what the repair instructions recommend too. I personally found this easier because of where the fridge was located (have to pull out then slide sideways to access the back). I had to replace the mainboard in the end anyway 🤣

@@esandoval89512 searspartsdirect has it: www.searspartsdirect.com/product/3kl4wgksj4-0046-795/id-ebr78940601 The part is also sold on Amazon and appliancepartspros.com.
thanks for showing how to test the sensor for resistance. I was doing it but had it on wrong setting so thought it was busted, switching it to 20K was the key

James where did you get the repair manual? Thanks for the info l already did the cooper wire trick but l still have the problem. I'll perform the tests you mention then ultimately replace the board. Great video!

@@thomaskotero8906 no, but I did the job anyway. Turns out I could have saved a lot of money. Didnt need to buy complete heater with all the bits for 50€, the lower thermal fuse was blown, 5€. The back panel with fan is a push in fit. Wasted lots of time trying to find out how to remove it when all you need to do is yank it out (you cant if its iced in place though) What happens is, someone leave the door ajar and ice builds up on the cooling fins due to lots of warm wet air being circulated. The ice build up is too much for the defrost heater to handle so air by the lower thermal fuse gets too hot and the fuse blows. Then you get a failure code -but the fridge still blows cold, so you keep using it. However, since the defrost heater no longer works, ice keeps building up out of sight. Eventually it stops blowing cold after a few days when there is so much ice, the fins are not exposed. myu advice, if you get a fault code, fix it asap, the longer you wait, the bigger hassle.

Yep, the frost never returned after replacing the main board. I didn't try to diagnose any further than that.

That’s next on our list. Thanks for the update! Update... I replaced the circuit board with no success. The frost still returned! So, I decided to take a next step. The refrigerator threw a “r DH” code. Board replaced, thermistor replaced previous. Now it’s time for the refrigerator defrost heater to be replaced. While I’m in there I’ll replace the thermistor/controller as well. Our specific model number is: LFXS30766S /00 I ordered: Heater, sheath, part number: AP5978777 $45.35 Controller assembly, part number AP5325101 $21.17 Plus shipping and tax: $85.02 Okay another investment I thought. But after 5 years of defrosting this worthless paperweight, the next stop was to use it for target practice. A bit of a pain in the neck to remove the heater sheath from the fins, but so far worth it. It’s now 6 days and the “r DH” code has NOT returned. I’m holding my breath, but so far its working properly. The refrigerator temp is set to 35 degrees F and has been consistently 36-40 degrees F depending on how much the doors are open. I’ll add a link to a few pictures shortly, but looks like success so far! Now the question is how long will it last!
