I suffer with PHN from a recent bout (6 months ago). My shingles were located on my C5, and my PHN is associated with that nerve root, causing severe pain that mimics radiculopathy. I am 60 years old, in good health and good physical shape for my age. Im very active, and the comments about coping are the most helpful thing I have heard yet. I was on gabapentin for a bit, but took myself off, as I do not care for any drugs or foreign chemicals in my body. Keeping a good attitude and toughing it out is pretty much my standard regimen for self treatment. Heat (hot shower) works well to distract my confused nerves, and well as massage. It sucks, but I see others with worse health issues than my own, so i am thankful that my condition seems to be improving. Im leaning back into water skiing and harder physical activity as the pain is managed. It appears we are a big club folks. Pray for each other and stay tough through it.

I’m dealing with a bad case of PHN. So painful it drops me to the floor. Currently taking Gabapentin. Having very hot and painful eruptions in on my head where the shingles were and around my eye. Seems like it’s not getting better

Over 8 years of PHN. I take Gabapentin (1800mg/day) but not sure how much it helps.

What’s all this about a very specific type of home remedy to make shingles go away within a week or less.? I don’t know but what made sense to me, was Kaena Ramingler’s guide which I mentioned a few weeks back, you can go’ogle her to see if you can also get rid of them in a week or so..

Being zoster free is the main goal isn’t it? That and doing it within a few days, NOT wasting months or even years on it. Even though we all know magical pills don’t exist, there are certain methods, like Kaena Ramingler’s approach that make a huge difference in just 3 days. (maybe 5 if you stretch it a bit though)

I am 26 years old and I had shingles about 3 months ago. I would have 1sec-10sec nerve pain episodes, but at that time it would come and go randomly.
