Jordi focus on the World Cup DH for the most part and XC when the stops have both, we have another crew that supports EWS. For the most part XC racers don't "puzzle" with their setups as the sport is so different, if you've watched all the Dialed episodes you'll see that Jordi services and sets up XC athletes the same way he does for DH athletes. If an XC athlete wants to puzzle Jordi will solve the puzzle! 👊

I have a super basic question about setting sag in the fork, I have a 2018 fox 36 factory RC2. When measuring sag should you lift the front wheel off the ground to let the fork extend fully or do you measure after stepping off the bike? My fork sits around 10mm into the travel if I just carefully step off the bike. Thank you.

Hi, I will like to know if I change the hight of the IFP will I get a more progressive button out at minimum space and so the bigger the chamber of the IFP the more linear it will feel. I think the bigger the shaft and the thinner and long the IFP can achieve a more progressive shock with a liter shim stack?

Why do all fork manufacturers put the climb mode on the compression circuit and not the rebound? (Clearly not a downhill bike question) Logic to me would be put it on the rebound, compress the fork, turn the dial (damper inverted) or press a lever, this would hold the fork lower in its travel and slightly shorten the wheelbase, all good for climbing.
@FOXFACTORY
5 жыл бұрын
Hey Kevin, the purpose for the climb mode being placed on the compression circuit rather than the rebound is to stop the suspension from compressing while climbing. Any travel adjust function would usually be carried out on the spring system. Climb mode being placed on the Rebound circuit would not stop the fork compressing whilst climbing only causing the fork to "pack down" becoming harsh and compromising traction.

If you're aiming for a technical role, choosing a degree in mechanical or automotive engineering is a good start. After your first year, your module choices can align you to a vehicle-dynamics specialism, but most good companies will recognise transferable skills if your final project/dissertation isn't directly relevant to their industry. So long as you're strong in fluid dynamics, materials and FEA you should be fine. Look for opportunities to gain relevant experience: Join the Formula Student team. Get a summer job that isn't in a bar. If your university has an MTB team, be their Jordi.

This series is awsome! So much Information! When i set my sag, how do i messure it correctly? When i unweight the fork, the stancions sit in about 3-5mm. Do i messure from thear to the oring or do i Need to pull out the fork and messure then? I hope you understand me. English is not on point, sorry for that!:D Greetings from Germany!;)
@BenNemec
5 жыл бұрын
Pretty sure that shouldn't be happening. The fork should be at full extension with no weight on it. It could mean the negative chamber didn't equalize properly and has too much pressure. I also had similar behavior when I reinstalled my lowers without the air spring fully extended and it created a vaccuum in the lowers that pulled the fork down.

Hey I have a question, I have the 29er V10 and a DHX2 Shock with a 500lbs spring. I am about 65kg and on a DH Track i don't use the whole travel. Do you think the 500lbs spring is too stiff for me? I don't fell that this is too stiff but I don't use the whole travel. Do you think a 475 is better for me for racing? The SLS springs are not so cheap so I don't think i will buy two of them...
@onemoreriff7644
5 жыл бұрын
Hey buddy I can give some advice if like,500lbs is way to high for 65kg.You won't be getting the correct sag either.You should be looking for 400lbs if your hitting fairly gnarly stuff.Less that 400 if the tracks are not to brutal.
@MHDHRacing
5 жыл бұрын
@@onemoreriff7644 Thanks, but i think the 400lbs is way to soft for racing. The 500 don´t feel like it is too stiff but I can´t use the last 10mm of travel. Santa Cruz recommends a 450 lbs spring for my weight for the V10 29". So maybe the 475 is good? Thanks for your answer dude! The SLS springs are pretty expensive and you don´t buy them every day as a privateer racer :/

@fox To rephrase my question, what setting change might you make if your front end is washing out?
@kubagajda7347
5 жыл бұрын
Maybe more LSC on the back to load the front of the bike more
@EmyrDerfel
5 жыл бұрын
If you're washing out the front, you're either overloading the front tyre, exceeding the contact patch or surface material's ability to support the lateral component of load, or you're underloading the front tyre, so it's not really digging in. The limit of grip happens at the tyre, but suspension helps to even out some of the spikes in load to stop you hitting the limit and hitting the floor. Try moving your weight forwards by using a longer stem or by lowering your bars.

Ciao Jordy. Complimenti per il tuo lavoro, sei il n1. Volevo sapere come settare la mia Cannondale jekyll 1 del 2019. Ho una forcella Fox 36 factory da 150 Grip 2. Peso 68 kg.

Hey Jordi, I have an 2019 x2 metric 250x70 on my bike. Would I be fine with putting on an DHX2 shock that is 250x75?
@onemoreriff7644
5 жыл бұрын
So your adding 5mm to the stroke length of the shock,which is going to give probably another 12.5mm travel to the rear.So with the shock you already have,take the spring off and push the rear to the end of its travel,check if there's nothing touching or close to touching as the next shock will creep closer.Also bear in mind when riding and hit full travel your pedals will be quite a bit closer to hitting objects.You might find it to be ok,but it sounds like you have 8 or 9 inches of travel anyway and I dont see why you would need more.Just like to help mate.

Rok Bukva Air pressure changes the stiffness of the spring while compression changes how the damper reacts. I recommend to leave the compression open most of the time. Go with the recommended sag and add 2-3 volume spacers for bottom out resistance if you use too much travel.

But this feels way to harsh for my liking an i dont use full travel. it feels perfekt on 25-30% Sag. should i leave it like this or should i put volume spacers out an use the 15-20% Sag. i have 75kg naked and the fork has 75psi in it.
