I sincerely hope that the particular three books that Weiwei recommended near the end of this video, get narrated & produced into the AudioBook format. Because on Audible, most of the audiobooks on China and geopolitics, are from the western/orientalist perspective - heavily biased against China, except only TWO that I've finished listening to - China and the West by Peter Nolan and Has China Won? by Kishore Mahbubani... Most 99% of the other audiobooks are thoroughly biased 😣

Am curious how the narrators were able to inject their biases into the audiobooks - was it from the tone of voice, or did they sprinkle in their opinions?

@@dlcmh Oh no, the biases are directly from the written versions. The job of the narrator is to narrate the whole book as it is, word by word, from the original text. Audiobooks are reflections of their written versions

@@dlcmh haha I'm imagining an audiobook read by a narrator who is obviously scoffing and making disparaging noises as he does so.

If you want to know a person, you want to talk to the person personally or listen to his speeches. That’s common sense. But when it comes to understanding China, most people chose to ignore Chinese narratives. Even though there is a bad Chinese image that already deeply planted into a lot of people so called “everything China says is a lie”, people still should have the basic sense of how to understand something.

New Capitalist + Old Dictatorship = Best recipe for the World? No thank you sir. And by the way, please leave Vietnam alone.

Sorry, since decades Vietnam has been learning Chinese reform and development step by step, although both have conflict in the South China Sea.

That's true. Vietnam has learnt so many things form China since ancient times.

If the CPC is the dictator of China, the CPV is the dictator of Vietnam, only worse, if you take the living standard differences of the two countries into account.
