In the conversation between the Lord and Peter, “Peter, do you love me?” the Lord gives Peter the chance to declare three times that he loves the Lord. Three times, to offset the three times that Peter denied the Lord. How very, very kind was the Lord to Peter.

Wonderful lecture/sermon. Brilliant! And still so timely, almost 3 years later. Does anyone know the singer who sings after Diana speaks? Or the name of his song, which sounds like he wrote it based on her preaching, its so on point. Would love to hear more and share with others.

Not sure but it sounds a lot like it could be a Keith Green song from SoCal 1972ish. Jesus Movement : )

This is a powerful and moving sermon, well -structured and well-deliverd. However, the conclusions are based on a debatable textual assertion that the last chapter of John is an addendum penned some thirty years after the original manuscript. I m not a NT scholar and do not have enough knowedge to make an argument either way for the timing of the chapter's original composition, but I myself would never put so much interpretive weight upon such an uncertain assumption. For instance, even in Chapter 6:1, the Sea of Galilee is referred to as the Sea of Tiberias as well, suggesting that the author of the main text and the added "Epilogue" of Chapter 20 are one in the same person writing well after the Sea of Galilee had been renamed. Other stylistic consdierations support a single author for the entire work but two authors is not what Bass is asserting, but two events). In spite of manuscript evidence that the entire book was of a piece from the earliest date, I will concede that Chapter 20 seems an afterthought and with a point that may have to do with the issue of Jesus not bringing history to an end much more quickley as he seemed to have promised after the Resurrection. But, again, I wouldn't have put so much interpretive weight on she believes the is the meaning of the "addendum". Just sayin'.

Listen again; the Sea of Galilee would have been renamed in/around the year 20 when the city was being built. Still fits…
