Gracias por aportar este video que es una verdadera joya. Cynthia y Fernando dos monstruos sagrados de la danza y mis amigos. Cuantos recuerdos se me aglomeran en mi mente y mi corazon.

No other ballet couple deserved the bravos and cheers more that Cynthia Gregory and Fernando Bujones. Seeing these 2 dance together is always a joy and considering it's an obscure, rarely done pas de deux, at least in America, this is a treat. Perhaps not her best performance but still impressive and always exciting.

Honestly, I saw Cynthia and Fernando dance a *lot* when I lived in NYC and adored them, but they look like they're really holding back and even making an occasional mistake here (they were still pretty much at the top of their game in 1983). Unfamiliar stage maybe?

That's what I wondered. She brought her pick-up troupe through here (Utah) many years ago, and the stage they used at Weber State University had a bad reputation for one spot where you either stuck or slipped. It was roughly where the ballerina would normally stand to do centerstage turns (as in many codas). She came off pointe during the coda of Grand Pas Classique, and then smiled, made a face like "well, I bet that looked stupid" and just continued to turn in the way only Cynthia could. What grace, style, and professionalism!
