Did Hitler read Nietzsche and just totally misunderstand what he was reading? Nietzsche was trying to explain that the average person can't understand the brilliance of genius, while Hitler interpreted it as "people who dance are mad!" 😂
@monstersociety3360
15 күн бұрын
Hitler misinterpreted Nietzsche in a LOT of ways. I would go so far as to say that this was among the least of them. As a matter of fact, almost everyone who reads Nietzsche's writings misinterprets him. A Perfect example: it is my understanding that, throughout his life, Nietzsche advocated AGAINST nihilism, believing it to be the bane of humanity's existence BUT, being a staunch atheist & understanding that atheism & nihilism were deeply intertwined, he also believed that atheism, and with it nihilism, were about to take over the world. As a direct result of this, most of his writings are about pursuing art, poetry, knowledge & human achievement, rather than pursuing the depressing existential dread that comes with nihilism. Essentially, he wanted you to distract yourself with pursuing forwarding human potential, instead of sitting around with your thumb up your rear end crying about how nothing matters, so why do anything, ever. AND AFTER ALL OF THAT, WHAT HAPPENS? More than a century later, absolutely everyone - or very nearly everyone - who studies his work calls HIM a nihilist, usually by taking his writings out of context, to the point of using these quotes to "prove" nihilism in general. Somewhere in Hell, Frederick Nietzsche is looking up at us going "Wow, you people REALLY went in the opposite direction from everything I ever talked about."

Speaking of Adolf's childhood, the final scene of the movie "Come and See" is surprising in which the traumatized protagonist, after finding a portrait of Adolf, begins to shoot it in anger while a montage of clips from the austrian painter's life plays in reverse, but when Adolf is shown as a baby, the kid stops shooting and cries, realizing how much humanity hasvlost in the war

I've never understood the controversy behind Mein Kampf AND BEFORE YOU TAKE THOSE WORDS OUT OF CONTEXT, HEAR ME OUT: From what I've been told by other people who've read the book, Mein Kampf is VERY poorly written. You have to understand, Hitler was a lot of terrible things, he was a dictator, a genocidal lunatic, etc, but he WASN'T a particularly good writer. Try to imagine a person with NO WRITING SKILL WHATSOEVER writing a biography of their own life in a weird, rambling manner, and then publishing the first draft of THAT without going over what you wrote or even going back & making sure what you said even makes sense. Mein Kampf sold VERY poorly in its time, even in Nazi Germany, having failed to sell even a few hundreds of copies even before Hitler's rise to power. Granted, it would later become required for German citizens to own a copy in their household after he became "Fuhrer" but even then, I question how many of the German people actually bothered to force themselves to finish or even read it. Apparently, Mein Kampf is equally that level of terrible even in its original German writing, not just in English, too. Mein Kampf didn't turn the German citizenry into Nazis, Hitler's speeches & other factors did. So how come every time somebody, somewhere has some nasty allegations being lobbed at them & that person HAPPENS to own a copy of Mein Kampf, the media always reports that fact as if it has something to do with the case? I remember there was this one student at a High School who was accused of some real nasty stuff, and according to the media, he "had a copy of Mein Kampf in his backpack" and then that same student later reported that he only had it on him because he needed it for a book report or something. Whether or not he was guilty or whether or not that was true, I have no idea. If a person does something out prejudice/racism, then that person was probably ALREADY a racist BEFORE they purchased the book, or already interested in racism in the first place. Mein Kampf would hardly have factored into that, or any nastier actions that person may have taken against an innocent, I'm reasonably certain of this. It's not a hill I'm willing to die on by any means, but... really? All this controversy? Mein Kampf just sucks too much to be a problem, imo. Sidenote: There's a great video on the history of who has been receiving the royalties for Mein Kampf over the years on this very channel, and if you haven't watched it, you should. Apparently, it's actually been so long now that the copyright on the whole darned book is about to expire in just a little while.

I'm not saying he did or didn't or it, was or wasn't an accident. However, I have an uncle who's entire career was in some way law enforcement. He was even a firearms instructor for several years. The man casts his own ammo and knows more about firearms than anyone I've ever met. Still, with 60 some odd years of weapons experience, he shot a chunk out of his finger with a 4.10 derringer. This is a single shot pistol, small enough to hide in the palm of a child's hand. You flip the ketch and the barrel breaks open for loading and unloading. His finger was partially over the end of the barrel, the catch was stuck and he was trying to force it. Bang. He's fine, but even with weapons experts, accidents can happen. Also when I was a teenager, my father, who was a city marshal, deputy and also a firearms instructor, was unloading his service weapon at about 4am after his shift had ended. He had a tendency to only sleep about 3 hours a night for years. He always had 2 jobs and a carpentry side hustle. He ruined two brand new pairs of cowboy boots. To this day he's still not sure why he ejected the magazine, then aimed the pistol down and away into the closet and pulled the trigger. Mom, who was asleep at the time, was not pleased. This is just a devil's advocate argument for the possibility that an accident occurred. Though I do not think it was because she was writing a letter and suddenly decided to stop. I think it's more likely she was writing the letter at some point during the day and became interrupted by something. Whether or not that was the argument or an assassin, I have no opinion.

I have no information about which lung she hit but if it was the left lung that could be a hypothesis. I've read about several people who shot or themselves in the heart very pointedly. Mark Linkous of the band Sparklehorse is a notable contemporary example.
