I wouldn't call it a full on choke but you can see San Antonio had a serious game plan to stop Harden, forcing him to make a lot of bad decisions. It got so bad (3rd/4th qtr), that you kind of could just tell Harden had some kind of weird draw foul first mentality, kind of floppish, attitude. Team defense was not putting an arm out (Harden classic way to generate a foul), moving their feet, moving under the screen/ roll. Forcing him to his left, where he is clearly weaker dribbling. So he just went for either pretend foul or bad 3. Pop had a game plan and the team executed well. It's hard to say choke when you drop 30+ but clearly the Spurs got to him.

As a Rockets fan, I'll give Ginobili the credit here. It's quite obvious he's been saving himself all season for these moments. He's a champion, and knows what it takes to win big games. He went all out throwing his old ass body down the lane for a big dunk, hit a clutch 3 down the stretch, and then got the game-winning block. The Rockets needed a wily vet to do the same, as Harden was clearly tired, but they didn't have one. As great a coach as D'antoni is, why not give Sam Dekker and Montezl Harrell some minutes? These are the times young guys need EXPERIENCE.

I'm a Rockets fan and I have to agree with Max on this one, the loss in on Haden. He reverted back to his ball-hogging tendencies (holding onto the ball late into the shot clock) and on top of all of that he turned the ball over 2-3 trips in a row when the game was still tied. This loss is 90% on Harden and 10% on the clutchness of the Spurs bench players and Danny Green.

Lebron misses 1 free throw in the final minutes it's considered BIG TIME choke. Stephen A Smith is a joke... A walking contradiction at its finest.

I'm a Spurs fan and I'm going to say this from an unbiased point of view. D'Antoni also deserves blame. He never let the offense move the ball around, he continued to let Harden hold the ball. When harden failed to make a play the first couple of possessions, he should've made a change, and he didn't. As a result, harden took bad shots, turned the ball over etc. Not saying harden should get a pass btw...he most definitely came up short.

i am a die hard rockets fan, and honestly harden choked. we should've won the game but he was exhausted and just irrational at times with his play, we came up short when it mattered, and mainly because our leader and superstar didn't show up, but i saying that its not just his fault all of them seemed out of place. late in a pivotal game 5 in san antonio playing as the away team, you'd imagine its gonna be difficult, but since harden is the leader we expect him to perform in these situations, so technically he choked but it happens to the best of them. but i think we can win in 7

It's like 60% Harden's fault. 3 turnovers in Overtime is unacceptable. In such a close game, that's certainly the game changer. However, you have consider the fact that Harden was tired for playing the entire 4th and all of overtime, AND you have to credit the Spurs for playing rock solid defense. But you can't blame the entire loss on Harden. He got a triple double. He scored 33 points. He did about as much as he possibly could and those turnovers were costly, BUT the game shouldn't have even gone into overtime. The rest of the team failed to close it out in the 4th, and that isn't on Harden.
