I was living 15 years in Asia, and I've learned how ruthless Chinese can become when it's about business. I am not surprised.....that's only the tip of the iceberg.

Ya I have run factories (not audio) for Chinese in Asian countries.. It's different.. One case of massive pilferage turned out to be one of the owners, don't know why he couldn't wait for his dividends and let me just improve the profitability. His stock performed poorly due to poor numbers due to pilferage. Which reduces his actual retirement money. What a world. But it's wrong to generalise it's endemic but not a pandemic. It's the old guys who are like that more often, business culture has improved, but the few badduns who are left are more ruthless.

i think Tangzu didnn't learn from KZ's mistake. i guess they didn't think that people outside of their company can actually have the know-how and do a tear down of their products and understand what is going on. After what happened with KZ who, from what i've been seeing lately, seemed to have learned their lesson, i think it's just sheer utter stupidity on Tangzu's part to think that they can do stupid shit like this and not be found out eventually.

@Bass Freq Yeah. The sad truth about this hobby is there are companies who see this as nothing more than a cash-cow, and they have no qualms treating audio enthusiasts like morons... well, partly, the community is to blame. We put our guards down and took everything these companies say at face value; we swallowed their bullshit hook, line, & sinker - including the prominent "audiophiles" in the community(i think they swallowed the bs the most, and led the rest of the community to feast along with them). I think it's time that these iem companies' integrity and credibility are constantly scrutinized and tested by the community, and if they don't like it, then they can take their bs somewhere else. The iem audio community has to learn from this and act on it. Otherwise, these companies will just keep selling bullshit. ...and we'll be proving ourselves morons and idiots for buying it.

As with most things these days, cost efficient/ profit margin drives everything. When they get enough, they will upgrade to something else and ride that till they can't. Look at the car industry, Hyundai/Kia have had the same three 4 Cylinder engines in their cars for over a decade, the 1.8, the 2.0 and the 2.4 have been used since the 2000's. Update amd modify till you can't but develop in the back round so there is a replacement ready when you can't do anymore to it.

None of these membranes have anything to do with carbon. Unless they have a way to fuse real carbon nanotubes with PTFE, this is just some dye in the plastic. Remember, carbon is completely mat , not shiny.

Do you have any references or real scientific analysis that helps to describe the difference between PET, LCP and DLC? These terms are starting to sound like marketing bulshit that all described the same material: plastic. Like, who's to say that the difference between all of these different drivers is not the color of the plastic used?
@hi-friaudioman
Жыл бұрын
Yes its call X ray spectroscopy or an electron microscope and unfortunately the machines are very expensive. I've been keeping my eye out for a cheap used one but until then we only have our eyes. With a good enough microscope we can get a pretty good idea and im keeping my eyes out for one. Hopefully I can find a cheap one.
@BillStrathearn
Жыл бұрын
@@hi-friaudioman I guess the thing that I forgot about in my somewhat conspiratorial comment is that you have the ability to feel and touch and determine if there are physical material differences between each of these differently colored drivers. For us watching the video, it's tough to tell that the difference is anything other than color-based. Thanks for the reply though.
