That's completely stupid. Why can't we select from the menu to keep 12V sockets live. There should be a simple switch for that.

Wish it was an option, because I’d actually prefer this 😅. Had to get my radar detector hard wired to another circuit to keep it off when I’m not in the car. Now it seems I could just use the accessory outlets, that would’ve been nice

I can see that being an issue as well 😄 a software toggle would be great for all uses that defaults to off if not selected, same as Sentry mode

I'd prefer a regular wall outlet vs 12v. Something decent enough (I can only charge 1kw on my inverter) to charge the house battery in a pinch. If you have it though I don't see the reason for removing it.

I agree. It's strange to me that Tesla doesn't have Vehicle2Load yet 🤷♂️

This is sad. we are in texas and loved having a refrigerator plugged in our car all the time via sentry mode kept on. This was a huge bragging point for us.

100% for me to. Fucking Tesla Software has turned to shit in the past year or so.

It doesn't make any sense that they would do this intentionally... it must be a bug. I know they have been trying to decrease vampire drain lately so maybe someone had a fat finger about it. It would be far better just having simple feature switches to manually select on/off of things like 12v and usb outlets and climate and interior lights, etc.

I truly hope it's a bug or an oversight too. Agree that simple SW switches would be a great way to solve it

Not cool. I had also read from Julien in France that the 12v cuts out when not in car or in sentry mode, meaning all the food is warm when you return to the car after being away for a few hours - really poor, Tesla. Let's hope they can give an option to leave on or off to help both car campers and the lazy taxi drivers leaving stuff connected all day.

With how much they invested in figuring out how to do a 48V system in the Cybertruck, it doesn’t surprise me that they might start aiming at the inefficiencies of 12v across existing models. Might be time to invest in a battery generator like a jackery or something like that. I personally have the big 4-battery EGO generator that can deliver 3000W @ 80amps 😮 I’m also fortunate that I can just plug into the 120/240 outlets in my cybertruck (and there isn’t a 12v outlet at all) and turn on those outlets from the app, but this would definitely frustrate the hell out of me.

It's not fair that you Cybertruck owners get grown-up outlets and we don't 😄 To your point though it would be strange if Tesla suddenly nerfed 12V in existing models based on the 48V system in other models. It will be interesting to follow this topic and see where it ends up.

And I just bought a 12v fridge and DC/AC converter for a road trip to France from the UK, thankfully I can return the fridge still. The DC/AC converter will still be of use, but a little less so

Oof that's rough! I'm gonna do more experiments with weight in the front seat etc so keep an eye on the channel
