Especially a guy from TNA who was considered "too small" for 20 years before he got that Royal Rumble pop. AJ is a Mount Rushmore wrestler. I've watched since 1986. I know wrestling. AJ has never had a bad match. He's never off or calling it in.

I couldn't imagine A.J Styles all those years ago when I watched him back in 2002 / 2003 on TNA, which felt really indie back then on an obscure UK wrestling channel, that one day he'd eventually rise to reach wrestlematnia. But the best always rises to the top.

IMO, the best to ever do it. I do wish 'Taker got his last match send off in front of fans, but that Boneyard match was amazing. I'm thankful and grateful that I got to watch 'Taker for 33 yrs and some change.

I would have preferred that after Taker lost at Mania 33 and left his coat and hat behind, he would have come back as the American Badass at that point when he returned at Raw 25 and he should have continued with that character until retirement.

Well Vince hated that version of Undertaker so it would have never got approval. We got a hybrid of ABA and Deadman Taker for the AJ match so we should be happy we got that.

@@acurisur True maybe if Triple H was in charge of booking at the time he would have given Taker the freedom and would have booked him better against current wrestlers and Taker and HHH respect each other very much even though Vince McMahon respected Taker but Vince was difficult to deal with and lost his creative sense after 2016

As a kid, I always envisioned kane being the one to end the undertakers streak, in a hell In a cell match, being the only opponent to ever defeat the undertaker at mania, and doing it for this murdered family, and at the end of the match after he beats him with the tombstone, he chokeslams the undertaker through the ring, and fire shoots up for where the undertaker went through the ring, never would have let Brock win, or roman, neither made much sense

Know what I loved? A match where Undertaker was not expected to show, never announced or advertised or whatever, but then, then you heard that church bell. The death bell. Undertaker's Bell. To me, that was better than Stone Cold's glass break (nothing against Stone Cold, I'm just saying...) God... and I never ever saw it live. Man...

What he isn't mentioning for obvious reasons, Vince kept calling him back and he was loyal to him so he never said no. He would have been fine with the Roman loss but Vince kept calling. Vinnie Vegas was the snake eyes guy, i believe it was his finisher.

I would have billed a non-finish double retirement with Taker and Kane ending with a tombstone through the ring, with fire coming out of the hole. I would have made it so that both characters (being the same character split up later) as going to Hell and staying there. We could still get Callaway and Jacobs involved, but it would be as though they were possessed and had no memory of the entirety of the wrestling run. The two demons that possessed them gone forever, or at least until summoned again years later in new, younger bodies. Kane and Undertaker could live on if they needed to.

You know what I really like about undertaker’s podcast is there’s only a few others with a podcast that when they tell stories we don’t have to question it. W we don’t have to wonder if he’s telling the truth or not or doing something to toot his own horn or help out his legacy. Like if you hear some people do interviews or podcast like Paul Roma, Flair, Russo it’s just filled full of stories that as soon as we hear them we call bullshit. It’s not like that with taker

i look at it like .. roman match he retired for in ring competition ... even though he was expecting an in ring match with aj.. but because it became more of a fight ... its almost like an encore .. like a bonus ... i think its perfect the way it happened. Thats how i chose to look at it now

Kevin Sullivan was so good with his gimmick, fans really believed that he was satanic. Kevin has said many times in interviews that he was raised in a strict Roman Catholic household and is still a practicing Roman Catholic who attends mass regularly.

I recommend looking up the photo of the Nation in Young Rock. Faarooq looks passable, Rock looks OK, D-Lo's a little overweight but the face resembles the real D-Lo, and then Godfather looks more like Viscera than anyone else

1 thing I've always wanted to know. Taker is as old school as they come, and has always followed the wrestling code. 1 of those things is "you go out on your back, 1, 2, 3" but he didn't, so does it bother him? He could have hung it up with the Roman loss, so I wonder if he has any regrets.

That’s random the interviewer knows about Kevin Sullivan to be familiar with his booking of stuff similar to Ministry. Obviously the dungeon of doom comes to mind. But ya, how did he not know Kevin Sullivan never worked in WWE? lol…it’s like Scott D’Amore they’re two of the only people to be well known bookers that that never worked in WWE. They have had the Prichards, Dutch Mantell, Erik Bischoff, and Paul Herman among others that are known for working in all the main companies or multiple major companies along with WWE.

It sucks that he came to the realization that it was over for him after shooting for hours and hours. I feel like since he got his hips redone and knees done, if he did HRT and did a 5 month camp to get himself into shape, I know he could have another 30 min match. But i know it’ll never happen.

Except Taker came back as the Deadman literally the next Wrestlemania (34) to face John Cena. So your point doesn't really work. Also Mark has said that the version of Taker that faced AJ Styles was a hybrid of ABA and Deadman, because he still used the Deadman's disappearing trick and lightning.
