Love the video and the very fair comparison! In one week we'll release two new domes for free, which should be really fun :D We also recently added a "friendly mode" for Prestige, where it's a lower difficulty and you only compete with your steam friends on a separate leaderboard from the usual. Some people really wanted to play prestige but found it too hard, so it was a natural addition :) The meta progression is a really interesting topic, especially as it is a core difference between both games. I decided against it for relic hunt, so that runs would not get way too easy while both your equipment and your skills are getting better and better. But it's also something we saw in player feedback, that a meta progression can be really motivating for people who are not intrinsically motivated to increase the challenge of the game by themselves or try different strategies. I could however see a meta progression in the migration mode for dome, if we ever finish that one (was originally intended for release instead of prestige mode) :D Cheers! Oh, PS: we were two at Bippinbits when we released, but hired two more people a few months ago. I really really need to update that website. It even said "Dome Romantik" on the bottom until last week :D

I'm very excited for the new Domes to try out and jump into prestige mode! Always appreciate and love all the changes being made always thinking of the entire player base. Keep up the great work always! And I'd also be very intrigued to see how meta progression works if was added in migration mode

I started playing Dome Keeper again after having played Wall World for the last couple weeks. One interesting difference in the core gameplay is that Wall World has a lot more resource types, and is more generous with finding them. Compared to Dome Keeper, where you can mine out 50 blocks and find nothing, and can only bring back a handful at a time. Resource scarcity is fine, as it adds an element to the gameplay. But switching between the two it felt very noticeable when I just need 1 or 2 more of a certain resource type and can't find it. 😅

That's an interesting topic, i'm thinking about it too. It's probably more satisfying to have more resources, so that you constantly get this reward of finding something. On the other hand, if you really really need cobalt in dome and finally you find something, the joy is bigger than if you constantly find some and you just need more. We could double the resources and double the cost, but what we'd loose is all gameplay around finding stuff, as you can just randomly go for any direction and will find something. This way we can have gadgets that help you out with resource detection. It's one aspect i didn't find too exciting in Wall World, that you'd essentially always want to mine every mine completely, so it does not matter which strategy you employ or if you are smart or quick with finding resource deposits. That being said, of course it should not be so scarce as to get really frustrating. It's a tight balance i guess :D

I would say, if you cannot find resources while mining around 50 blocks in Dome Keeper you just need better mining strategy. That is one of the differences between Dome Keeper and Wall World. In WW you can mind randomly and find resources without any problems, which is not a bad thing necessary, you can ease out on thinking. But for Dome Keeper you need strategy to mine, which I prefer personally, but to each their own.

Familiar with both but just hadn't tried either of them yet despite the buzz around both of these games. Thanks for the video, very informative, guess I'll have to give them both a play.

Was waiting for a video like that, heard dome keeper will have an exploration mode with procedural generation similar to no man's sky with some story mode.

Did you really make a 10 minute video and not answer the question? "Yes, Wall World did copy Dome Keeper"
