Black Urad dal Rasam / Karuppu ulundhu Rasam
Recipe
Black Urad dal - 2 tbsp
Coriander seeds - 1/2 tbsp
Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
Pepper - 1/2 tsp
Dry roast till it turns aromatic
Garlic - 4 cloves
Grated coconut - 1 tbsp
Roast it for a minute
Grind it coarsely
Oil - 1 tbsp
Mustard seeds - 1 tsp
Hing - 1/2 tsp
Dried chillies - 2 nos
Curry leaves
Tomatoes - 2 nos
Sauté till it turns mushy
Add the ground Rasam masala
Sauté for a minute
Tamarind extract ( lemon sized tamarind soaked in 2 cups water and extracted)
Water 2 cups
Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
Bring it to boil
Once it starts foaming
Turn off the heat
Add coriander leaves
