@@mjt1517 I went to a festival and dropped my phone. It had rained a few days before so it was incredibly muddy. My phone was covered in mud despite having a case on it. This also looks more like dirt than dust really, so I wouldn't be surprised if something similar happened

I personally use IPA and a toothbrush. It’s extremely fast and there’s no chance of damaging the aluminum. Plus it sanitizes the phone as well

You know what works as good? Blue tac. It’s like a putty you can press onto places like this and it pulls al the dirt out. I use it all the time on my air pods and iPhone speaker

You can't vacuum it straight away as it was already condensed into the slot. Might need a little agitation to get things started.

You should use tape, the dirt will stick to it. Then brush as much as you can off with a cotton swap then put a tiny bit of hand sanitizer on a cotton swab & clean the rest out.

One day at the beginning of the school year my Samsung galaxy s9+ got it's screen protector broken cause I was running across the street and my headphones was plugged in my phone and I broke the screen protector because it fell out of my fanny pack and I slid on it so I grabbed it and yeah. Dude, one thing I learned from inspecting and repairing phones is that phones are nasty and people are nasty. And they do the most bizarre shit with these devices. I found a gem wedged in an aux port once, because sure, why not.

I do this to my phone regularly, dead skin cells and general skin grease can cause all sorts of blockages, regular cleaning can reduce the risk of long term damage

Pro tip, if you drop your phone in water don't put it in rice that won't do shit. Instead submerg it into isopropyl alcohol as it will push all the water out and then let it dry for a couple days to ensure all the alcohol has evaporated. Do not turn it on when it's wet or your phone is gonna short somewhere.

Less time-consuming and easier on the electronic is to mist the holes with some degreaser come back to it five minutes later mist it again then wait a few minutes and use a small tip nozzle hooked up to a decently powered vacuum cleaner and you're done. If a section is stubborn use a soft bristle toothbrush or medium bristle artist brush

I had to do this when my daughter’s speakers stopped working. It was a battle to get them unblocked. After 20mins I said “WTH did you do to them?!” She casually said “Oh.. I think it was when I dropped my phone on my toast..” JAM, people.. I was scooping out hardened jam 🤦🏻♀️ Strawberry. No I didn’t taste it.

I used to repair laptops. I had to quit because of how disgusting it was. Most of that gunk in those speakers is from someone's skin. When he used the air to blow it away he was no doubt breathing some of it.
