Another great (out-of-print) boeremusiek number from Die Oudag Boere-Orkes (The Old Timey Boer Orchestra).
The Alibama Polka ostensibly refers to the visit of the CSS Alabama, a Confederate raider which visited Cape Town during 1863. The Alabama made such an impression on the people of Cape Town and in particular the local "coloured" community that they wrote a song, "Daar Kom die Alibama" (There comes the Alabama) which became an instant hit, and is still frequently sung today. Several web sites refer to the song being a standard part of the repertoire of any Boeremusiek band.
