These turned out well! I will say this though. There is something to be said for simplicity when it comes to these diecast miniature vehicles. The more parts that open and move around, the more likely that they're going to tear up or wear out. Sometimes a straight-forward metal shell body with just a base, wheels and axles stands the test of time a lot better. Good work on these!

Another silk purse, from TWO sow's ears this time! Quite clever steering, after the Cambridge School car, Ackermann, I think, and a development of the Fordson Tractor system but the wee mudflaps thing seemed a bit redundant. Lovely job Martin, and the underbonnet detail is sweet.

Hi Martin we really enjoyed this model, one of your best and It would be great to see you do the set. The same basic casting as the German police car which might give a clue to the left/right steering wheel. In Africa they drive on the left, Germany the right. All the best from Ian b & family.

The "opening bonnet" feature on these is why 90% of the ones you open up have that plastic suspension part broken off. The feature didn't work great to start with, and after a bit kids would really shove down on it trying to get the bonnet to pop, and snap the plastic part off! I believe as someone else said the Left hand drive models would have been for the European and American markets. Great job as usual👍

Thanks Bill ,your spot on about the bonnet release, not the best idea from corgi. Yes it must have been for the different markets ,,I will take note when I do future restorations as to the position of the wheel. All the best Martin 👍

the red is looking proper, and what a fiddly thing to take apart. I think only the batmobile and the JB in full gear-up are more complicated. XD as Ian B said, there are some versions for non-UK market as well as police and driving school, I think, hence the two different interiors. as for the front suspension I suspect you should have switched the front wheel hubs around so they lay underneath the steering triangle. but maybe it's better that way, the plastic wound't become any less brittle, and that way the lashes won't break away. either way, Rhyan the Rhino approves... with his horn. XD

I thought the thing under the bonnet was a handle on a toolbox? The LH and RH thing is a mystery, but it's the whole dash so maybe the different markets like the Driving School car. I'll bet that bonnet lifting pin never worked. Anyways, lovely job as always Mr. Dare.

Wow, what a lovely restoration Martin, that's a little gem you've produced there. Again your detailing work, like the black wash on the engine and detailing the items in the boot, really make your restorations stand out. Do you normally prefer to use white undercoat or did you use it on this model because you were using Mars Red? Thanks for your help with the detailing brushes, I've ordered some, they're much finer than I've previously been using. Another great video Martin, thanks for sharing it with us, and all the best. Peter.👍
