I bought Advance Auto Parts top "platinum" battery last December, and now less than a year later it won't hold a charge and we've had to get a jump start twice. The mechanic tried to charge it for hours and says it has a bad cell. The local Advance Auto Parts store refuses to honor the three-year warranty and replace the battery. I even showed them the photo from the mechanic's battery tester that says "REPLACE BATTERY", but they won't listen to reason or honor the warranty.

@@businessraptor127 I didn't need a receipt. I just gave them my phone number and they pulled up all the records in their computer.

Update: after two trips to my mechanic and three trips to Advance Auto, I spoke to the general manager and he reluctantly agreed to replace the battery. They are clueless about how to read their own diagnostic device. They kept claiming that the problem was the starter and not the battery. After they replaced the battery they reran the test and it said the starter was fine. The test of the starter was not valid without a good battery, but they don't seem to get that, even though it said it right on the screen of their diagnostic device.

Hey. Who on the marketing team needs to be fired for the Ed vance character? Hes so obnoxious I'm starting to actually hate advance auto for it. Already started to go to autozone... their rental tools are always in better shape too. Fire who made that ad asap. Im boycotting AAP over it. No joke.
