While I enjoy Kristina’s videos and recipes, I also really appreciate this video. I first went vegan 3 years ago and I was the healthiest I’d ever been. I was eating intuitively, not restricting myself, and listening to my body. I was doing really well! Then, I started following youtubers like High Carb Hannah, Freelee, Fully Raw Kristina, and so on - and my relationship with food became very unhealthy. I was doing high carb low fat, high fat low carb, raw vegan, constantly creating small lists of foods that I’m “allowed” to eat. These diets can be helpful, but they are often very expensive or unattainable. I would often mess up with such restrictive eating plans, leading to guilt. I learned about juice fasting and while it started out healthy, I stopped being able to tell when I was hungry and when I was full after coming back to solid food. I never felt satiated. I started using juice fasting to “detox” when I had eaten something not on my list. I went through phases of counting calories and being really restrictive, failing, fasting, and then eating a lot because I never felt full. I am only just recovering and learning how to eat a balanced vegan diet for my body again. I think that videos like these are really important. Yes, veganism can be incredibly healthy & successful, but we still need balance. Eating enough protein has been extremely beneficial in my overall wellness.

No she isn't, she's known as the opposite... She's known as being similar to this idiot who has fooled you into watching her videos... She's not fit... She's not healthy... She's blah... Just like this mental case who just can't stop saying protein, but at the end of her video says that Kristina's diet had plenty of protein. She talks about not getting enough fiber from that juice but then says she got too much fiber from a salad. Really... @@CitiesSkyGay did you read past where I was talking about unnatural vegan? Where I described how Abbey legitimately is lying and double speaking. How she says Kristina is not getting enough protein, then at the end says she got plenty. How she says that she is not getting fiber because she had juice in the morning then says that she got too much fiber. How she says that oil is healthy when in actuality it raises cholesterol levels and coagulates blood. The funny thing about dieticians is that they are paid by unhealthy and nutritionally ignorant people to give them information. Key word = paid. The only way they are paid is if people continue being unhealthy, and that is what her advice does, it tricks people into believing her when she says 2 contradicting statements in all of 5 minutes. Also, where are her credentials, I didn't see them. Listen to what she actually said in the video, then come back to me and respond. Think for yourself, don't "let Abbey" a person on KZitem getting paid by you by you watching her video, be a judge of anything. Look up a great website called nutrtionfacts.org where they give actual information and cite studies rather then giving opinion with no facts to back it up.

So true about the extremes. I see this more often with my clients that they are so confused as to why they don't feel good - even though they are eating only vegetables and doing HIIT workouts everyday - when in reality, you can OVERDO the "clean eating" and exercise as well. It's something I talk a lot about on my channel because I don't think it's discussed enough in the health field yet. Thanks for bringing that up!

@@AbbeysKitchen It's a person's preference how much dressing they like. What does that matter? Some people like a lot of sauce on their pasta, some only like a drizzle. If you like less dressing, put less, and save the rest for later (eat it as a soup, or put it in a bowl with some nuts, and whatever else you fancy). She's suggested this in plenty of her other videos. Also, to TayukiVlogs... Many of her soups and smoothies can be anything from a smoothie, to a soup, to a "cereal", sauce for noodles, as well as dressing. It's not laden with processed sugars and salts so you can eat away, but it will go bad quicker. So use it quickly. (Note: the more preservatives something has the longer it takes to digest. Hi Abbey - First video of your's I have seen. I am a whole food plant based vegan and enjoy Kristina's content. That being said, I found this review and analysis extremely well balanced, and thoroughly refreshing from the typical "fad fare" we see on KZitem these days. I agree with most of your points, with a couple of notes. I do believe from data and personal experience, that the RDA for fiber is too low, I think 40g-70g is ideal once you transition to plant-based. I also believe that we can get easily enough protein from plants and that adding animal foods reduces the overall nutritional value of the diet and opens us up to other health issues. In small doses though, I can see animal products being an option for some people, just very small amounts as part of a plant-based diet. I also believe that evidence shows that most people are deficient in B12, vegan or not, and D3 is based largely on sunlight exposure to skin and supplementation, not animal foods consumption, so again, not only applicable to vegans. I do supplement both. Overall, great video, and I look forward to more.

as a vegan- i thank you...my point exactly! i was a raw vegan for a while until i got a hold of my doctor. I got blood tests, BMI test, etc and my own doc - who tried to discourage me from a vegan diet -taught me how to go vegan SAFELY. She gave me pamphlets and advice. when i applied the items from the list in the pamphlet - my iron levels went up...my B12 levels leveled out....everything leveled out. my problem with other vegans is that they dont go to a doctor and get help with it. Vegans NEED the advice and help of a doctor and NOT a "vegan guru" - I now cook my vegan foods as well as go raw on occasion....i also stopped mono-mealing. i like to binge on vegan buttered pop corn from time to time or vegan marshmallows....but there comes a time when you just need to have a balance....that is true for any "diet" out there. i had a hard time in the beginning with undereating that way and not spending the $$ for it was expensive....so i started to cook vegan and it saved me financially. Now i cook a MEAN vegan shepards pie.....or Vegan potatoes au gratin....LOL

I definitely think fully Raw Kristina is on the extreme side however there’s not a lot of inflammatory foods in her diet so no I don’t think she’s going to be suffering from bloating; my experience with going vegan and at one point going fully raw vegan is your body gets used to all the fiber and the bloating kind of goes away after the first two weeks then you really don’t start bloating until you switch back to a standard American diet.

I came across this site looking for something else but thought I'd watch it. Because I eat the way you are talking about I wanted to comment. This is not bashing just telling you how it is in my world. I eat raw and it costs $100 a month to not ever more than $200 its about preparation. For instance One red pepper may be used in several dishes not just 1. I switch around a bit because I try to eat regionally and seasonally and its very doable eating vegan where I use beans, lentil beans, kamut, barley and rice which cost pennies to make from scratch even when I buy organic or outside the US. I have never been a 3 meal a day person but trying to be and never much more than 500 calories but I do take a lot of supplements, mostly food items. If added in that would greatly increase my budget but trying to eat 3x a day is where I get close to the $200 mark. It drives me crazy when people say something takes a long time esp after I explain. Humus in its easiest version is open and drain beans lets say cannellini ($1.19) put in processor with OJ $1.99 can .12 portion Olive Oil ($15 .20 por. Rosemary (free garden $6 a plant turns into a shrub) s&p and DONE $1.50 ish 4-8 meals .40 a serving. I get y Persian cucs $1.99 so $1 a meal tske that McDonalds. How is a couple minutes a long time? These are organic prices. I shop Trader Joes, the CoOp, Farmers Markets and do trade out with other growers. I donate extra from my fruit trees and garden (all organic) to the local food bank which everything I've listed you can get there for FREE. I can do those same beans with cinnamon, honey & coconut oil or add Mexican spices with a pico. I think of nationality I'm hungry for and season accordingly. I have done coconut milk, peanut butter, lime, red pepper flakes (Thai-ish) or coconut milk (a good Medium Chain Fatty acid that boost energy) and garam masala with raisins shredded carrot and beet (Indian). If you were chit chatting with someone I guess it could take 10 minutes. The vegitables you can find pre cut or cut yourself 5 minutes top for me. You can get everything on the big plate you showed from the local farm, traders or food bank for nothing. Organic from Trader Joe's she has about $10 in veg on the plate. I get 50 pounds of apples off my trees a week and there no way I can eat or preserve it all. If you grow all 4 or 6 zucchini plants that come in a pack you'll have them coming out your ears. I make cheese chips with them (nutritional yeast 1c about $1.50) sprinkled over dehydrated and portioned for snacks for later. You can pre zoodle and freeze or blend and freeze for smoothies later. I can make applesauce the long way peeling apples or the quick way and not. Its all about how you go about it. The most difficult thing I feel watching Kristina for at least 12 years now is having the fridge space. Eating Vegan with the nuts and beans 1/2c. tops and I'm stuffed, so her portions for me would be family size. The detox comment is wrong. If our bodies naturally detoxed why are so many people sick? The last person that would need to is someone like Kristina who eats clean. If you have never lived it you don't get the way the word is being used. It is used in reference to feeling like a waterfall inside (my description). I wish people reviewing ate the way of the person they are reviewing b4 commenting. There is a difference between an idea on paper and one actually tried out. Fruits, vegitables and grains and preserving them are the ways man/women have done it for thousands of years. I don't need a book or person to tell me, its logic. Meat was never a 3x a day food it was a luxury item as refrigeration hasn't been around that long in the scheme of things. If you aren't well do you want something that digest quickly so your body doesn't have to work so hard to heal itself or something that takes a long time, bloats you, ferments inside giving you gas? Also EVERY single way you eat is a DIET or limited due to Seasons, limited by price, limited by needs and wants so that is a weird thing people say and frustrates me because I believe people come to sights looking for a 1st step and answer and get more confused. If you eat the same food regularly its a diet. Diet does not mean restriction. Kristina does look like she limits her amounts for sure. We all know what we are eating and if we feel better after, if we have energy and if we get sick. Why put something in your body you can't i.d.? Would you in your gas tank? We all know good choices from bad. I think the best info a nutritionist can give is from factual information from trying based on book info. I think if one eats 3 days really healthy for every meal (not fake stuff, low fat, substituted junk the real deal and the 4th day eat whatever you want you won't feel deprived. Without trying you will see you won't care about the 4th day. Raw food means you can eat sweets and have a drink with a friend. You can take a party platter and have it enjoyed. (I have never taken one and brought anything home from a regular party). I don't say I can only have 1 thing only. I get where as a nutritionist that's wrong but even when its 8pm and I'm at Costco and I smell the food after not eating all day my body/brain does not say, "Oh no, It'll be just 1 time I have pizza" or "Oh no, I wish I could have pizza poor me". I will eat good pizza if I want it (like NYC) but my brain isn't thinking its going without it doesn't recognize that stuff as food just like no matter how hungry you are most people would not contemplate eating goat head. Its not even an option so I'm not missing out. That's what is meant by eating the raw food / vegan way. Its not a diet its a life style and the reality of living in this life style are people are friendlier and happier isn't that a better way to live.

Although i love fully raw kristina and her diet, i do agree with abby that it most likely only works for kristina and a small majority of people. Most of the population would not be able to do it. But i like how fully raw kristina only asks people to include one raw meal a day. I feel like she just helps people see the variety of raw foods you can make.

I hear dietitians and doctors say all the time that we don't need to do detox diets because our livers and kidneys already do a good job of "detoxifying" harmful chemicals, pollution and other toxins from our air, water, food and environment. These organs do a good job when the person is healthy and eats a healthy diet. Millions of people in this country eat a horrible diet, they drink polluted water, slather their skin with all sorts of chemicals and don't forget we live in an extremely polluted world. It didn't used to be this bad hundreds of years ago, so our livers and kidneys are NOT doing as good of a job because they are over loaded and can only handle so much. The liver and the kidneys will only work well if they are given the proper nutrients and aren't overloaded with chemicals that can hinder the important work they do everyday. Just like if you eat pounds of sugar every day; day after day, year after year, your poor pancreas is going to poop out and stop working like it used to. Detox "diets" can be harmful if done incorrectly, but our bodies DO NOT do a good job of detoxifying themselves if we are shoving in junk food and exposing ourselves to so many chemicals and pollution that they can't keep up. There's nothing wrong with "detoxing" ourselves of sugar, white flour, preservatives, alcohol, smoking and other crap while eating more fruits and vegetables, and taking certain herbs that can help these organs work better. That's a proper detox. Other than that, I agree with everything else you said in the video. Cheers!

I disagree, bc she started this to heal herself and I'm glad she shared it with us. I tried it for 2 weeks and it helped me so much, Just wanted to see what would happened. Anyways just listened to your body and see how it reacts. I eat everything because I can and no it's not expensive. The hospital is more expensive and the food generally given there well you decide. She's also helping us in areas about planting and doing what we can to eat better. All these people trash talking it's sick and toxic. I wish that instead every one can find some how a way to improve the world. Find and use the good and dispose the bad

I do agree with the fact that you DO NOT need as much as Kristina pushes. I did raw temporarily, maybe 3 weeks, and found that I ended up needing very little to satisfy me. I had tons of energy, and I supplemented. I was careful and did get my nutrients. I, however refuse to eat raw uncooked soup, raw pizza, raw vegan burgers......

So is your suggestion to eat dairy and meat? No thanks. Why don't you look at Kristina's blood work and then judge. She is thriving as are many raw vegans. Raw vegan is expensive? Excuses, excuses. A bag of Cheetos is $3. Do you know how many vegetables/fruits you can buy with that money? Vegan, cooked or raw, is very doable financially. Stop your bashing.

If you'd follow Kristina for a longer period, you'd know better. If you do proper food combining on a raw vegan diet, there is not such thing as bloating (except for the first few days of transitioning). She has enough vitamin b12 and she gets enough vitamin D from the sun, as she tests her blood regularly. These large amounts are what you need to get enough calories and you can adopt to these portion sizes. Not saying that her diet is the healthiest either, but it works for her. I also eat mostly raw vegan, but slightly different from hers. Daily recommended standards are based on what the average person is eating, but who says that 'average' is the best way to go?

I disagree with Abbey writing off detoxing, saying that the body can detox metals on it's own. While the body has the ability to take out heavy metals, the fact is that most people on the planet these days are exposed to lots of contaminants such as heavy metals, pathogens, and also eating unhealthily that actually in the long run that takes away the body's ability to detox heavy metals totally because of the load, particularly on the liver. This means that heavy metals stay stuck in cells and various places, remaining hidden. One may feel one's okay, however, the truth is there are still there, often for many years. Some pathogens actually feeds on these heavy metals and secrete out dermatoxins (causing acne for example) and neurotoxins. Science and medical community are still decades away from learning this truth. I guarantee you, if anyone takes a bioresonance scan, most people would have some levels of heavy metals, and likely a few of these heavy metals even at abnormal and unhealthy levels. Heavy metals are one of the main causes of so much health issues these days, that even the doctors are not seeing the truthful entire picture on what is the main root causes, preferring to fall back on heavy disinformation theories they read from universities and medical communities that keep people going on an endless loop of not seeing the main issue here and treating health issues with harmful medications. There is nothing wrong with taking detoxing juices everyday, because most of us have some level of heavy metals in our bodies that we can do without, we get such from the things we eat, drink, from the environment, from the air and atmosphere, it's so rare to find a human living place on Earth that is not contaminated from such at some level. Kristina staying away from heavier proteins and slow burning carbs can easily be rectified by tweaking one's meals to include tubers and beans. If a person has the abundance, time and enthusiasm to go for more vegetables and fruits in place of beans and tubers, why not. Also Kristina has a wide variety of recipes that changes everyday, so to say that she isn't getting the required micronutrients off one day's review isn't accurate. Besides, that can simply be rectified by getting the proper supplementation, even if not (which I don't think so). If anything, Kristina's meals actually gives a lot more micronutrients than most people's meals if you explore her other meals, especially those that include sprouts. A lot of nutrients are provided by raw plant based that even science are not ready to know yet, decades away from finding out. As for the expensive meals of Kristina's - I rather pay more for good food that I eat that keeps me super healthy for ages than to spend so much much more on medical bills later. I like enjoying my life feeling great and healthy, so many people face the heavy consequences much later on and have no clue what's causing these issues. Plant based raw done right makes one feel really really good. Spiritually, it really assists in one to shine one's Divine Light brighter from one's soul and is an amazing tool for spiritual ascension. As a spiritual person who has the gift to see, Kristina's spiritual Divine Light shining from her is pretty incredible. One thing I agree with Abbey though, is the time consuming meal prep and eating time of Kristina's meals.

I'm so happy you're making these videos it will save a few lives out there. I got into watching these popular vegans and starting to believe all the crap & pretty instagram pictures. Bought a few books including this kristina's app you're talking about. 3 months later almost ended up in hospital and was putting on fat around my stomach area barely eating 1200-1300 a day. I looked like I'm pregnant after each of these meals cause of bloating. The main problem was everything you mentioned: crazy shit loads of fiber 40gr + a day as I followed this book's meal plan & lack of protein + "cleansing" juices. Also, once my gut was full of fiber it didn't seem like I was absorbing plant micronutrients anymore. Now, I'm eating 1500-1700 cal a day with eggs, fish, red meat, turkey yougurts, cheese you name it. My macros are very balanced though as a use a scale to weigh my food I prepare. I lost weight and fat and gained a significant % of muscle instead. I'm back smashing my pole classes like there's no tomorrow. I'm a stripper and I train a lot in pole. I can burn a 1000+ Calories a day, so it didn't take much time for my body to get depleted from nutrients as my metabolic rate was shutting down. I'm so glad I'm back to normal, my hair is growing back fast now and my dentist will fix the damage on my teeth. I was not getting enough calcium and sensitivity to sugar on my teeth was horrible. I feel so dumb now that I did this all to myself thinking I'm on my "healthy" journey. It was more a journey to hell.
