First, congratulations on the baby!! I love to see talent, hard work, and perseverance result in success. Just the fact that you can turn down gigs says a lot about where you are in your career. I tend to write stories around photos, but have just started a YT channel and am finding out just how much there is to learn. And every aspect is important! Camera technique. Sound. Lighting. Editing. Telling visual stories. Get one piece wrong and it shows. I have so much more respect for creators. Thanks for sharing. Thanks for the motivation.

Really cool video! Just a tip for people who have the R, if you want you can set it up using the custom modes to change the frame rate and have the correct shutter. What I did was program custom 1 as 24p, shutter 50, aperture f2.8, and iso 400, custom 2 is 60p, shutter 125, aperture f2.8, and iso 800 (this way I can keep the same initial exposure in both modes). I can switch the different modes with the touch of the multi-function button, it works really well if you want to keep the 180-degree shutter.

I love the video and i'm just diving into your channel now, but i've really enjoyed alot of the stuff you have already done! Great work! Being a cinema camera owner myself, one of THE BIGGEST things that a Cinema camera has over a DSLR is audio quality when filmed in camera. I get more audio control in my C200 compared to my EOS R, now the filming situation does greatly influence which camera i use, but the point i wanted to share is that a MAJOR audio advantage a Cinema camera has over a DSLR. That's it and keep up the awesome videos!

Do you offer a client a “higher package” to shoot with that C200 or how do you decide what project needs the better camera
@stephenbrouillette4541
4 жыл бұрын
Thinking about this has been pretty funny for me. My “better” camera is a GH5, and the only noticeable differences as far as the client is concerned are things that make it easier for me to edit. Same thing for adding angles after the second angle. Shooting a better footage makes my job EASIER, so I don’t always know how or if I should change the price... Very interesting question indeed.

I recently bought a c500 mkii but I keep my A7iii too. The way I do it is I'll get on a call with clients, listen to what they want and expect. Then I will give them 2-3 quotes with different video concepts, along with sample videos. I'll have a budget quote which I normally charge for using a A7iii, and more expensive quotes with a more complicated concept etc, which I will use my c500. However, I'll never tell them what camera will be used and honestly they dont care. All they care about is the price and concept/quality difference. I do this even when I only own a A7iii, and would put in or take out other things like crew, lighting, storyboard etc based on the price

Great content. I break the 180 rule all the time while shooting interiors with my RED. I'll even go as low as 360 degree shutter at 40fps to get enough light in. Granted, this is when shooting static interiors. Just move slowly and it will be fine.
