Lucky you didn't loose the cap to the bottle inside the differential. You needed to take the cap off before you cut the nipple.

Doesn't your Rubicon have the M220 (Dana44) rear axle? If so it requires 75W85 gear oil.

The specs from Spicer Dana say to use 75W140 on an M220 rear axle. I figure it can't hurt. Some say to use 140 if it's under a lot of stress or towing.

Just a FYI in case you have a warranty claim. FCA holds the warranty and not Spicer Dana will do anything to say no to a warranty claim.

It’s recommended every 30-50k miles. I did this one around 25,000 and will probably do it ever 25-30k miles.

@@michaelrocole7174 Perhaps anything to cut costs? How much is it to drill and tap a hole?

Neither front or rear differential in the '24 has a drain plug either. Sucks. Have to pull the covers off.
