Ha ha the madness with echo units :-D The words "Bucket brigade delay" comes to mind, we used to have something similar to attach to c.b radios to improve the depth of the transmitted audio, Es880 units. It's amazing how just a tiny bit of echo improves the tx audio. The tape based echo units were really nice :-D

an absolute awesome board for circuit bending experiments! those NE5532 dual OP-amps are used in distorion and overdrive pedals too, and the PCB is super easy to work on.

For someone without a suitable transformer, 2 x 9V batteries wired in series should work fine. I've made echo & reverb guitar pedals using the pt2399 IC (the many good clones sold of this IC and they are quite cheap). PT2399 circuits don't require a split power supply and will happily run with one 9V battery (although better with a 12V DC wallwart as they are a bit power hungry) so I guess that split rail is just for the NE5532 preamp. I will say however that the components alone (PT2399, NE5532, 4 x POT & 2 x Jack socket) in this module make it pretty good value.

does the op amp for the mic preamp not require a split supply?

Here’s an experiment. You’ll need this module, a 74LS14 IC, a 16-bit LFSR, a microphone, a small audio amp, an 8-ohm speaker, a 5-volt power supply, and a bit of level-shifting circuitry to make the audio output of the echo module TTL compatible. Turn off the echo module and plug in the mic. Wire up the ‘LS14 and the LFSR to the 5-volt supply, and wire in the level-converter in between the echo module, and 1 of the 6 inputs to the ‘LS14. Wire the output of that gate to the clock input of the LFSR, after preloading it with some bits. Now, wire the output of the XOR gate to the audio amp, and hook it up to the 8-ohm speaker (you can probably run the audio amp from the same transformer as the echo module). Finally place the speaker near the mic, and tap the mic to input an impulse to get the show started! Be sure to wire the unused inputs of the ‘LS14 to ground or +5 volts.

@12voltvids

It requires a 12 to 18 volt center tapped transformer. Ac, not dc. Will not work on a dc supply or a battery. I ran it fine on ac.

So if i pass the bridge and directly connect the board to 12 DC battery at the point of the capacities that are after the bridge it should then work.
@12voltvids
4 жыл бұрын
@@ahmadzaki3328 No, it requires 12 to 18 volts ac. It does change the ac to dc on board but it requires a split supply. + and - voltages. This can only be achieved with ac, or 2 dc supplies such as 2 9 volt batteries wired to give a +9 and -9 supply.
@12voltvids

@@ahmadzaki3328 You need positive and negative supplies. Notice the 2 regulators.
