what a great reviewer - no giggling, no showing off, just pleasant and to the point - thank you! * would of liked to of heard more up the neck playing though, because getting the 12 string sound with open chords will be much easier. Update: just got one $90 used - well worth it - thought it was defective since it kept shutting down while on my board - then connected the power supply that came with it and it worked fine.
@charlessale409

If it was shutting down like that, you likely didn't have enough current available in your previous power supply - check the ampere level of the two supplies and compare them.

Best demo of the Mosaic so far, most of the others really crank the treble, and make it sound fake, way too digital. Your recommended setting to "Nail" the 12 string sound actually sounds a lot like a real one. I was on the fence about ordering this pedal, due to the fake sounds of the other demos, but you have convinced me it can work as advertised, thanks!

I love this pedal, but I think something should be made more explicit. On real 12-string guitar, the high B and E strings don't have octaves, they're doubled, but the Mosaic adds octaves. That's why you want to reduce the Tone control for a sound closer to a 12-string, it makes those octaves harder to hear. He somewhat says this in the video, but I found it a little vague. That said, I'd still recommend this pedal, it sounds great.

Not true. Read the manual: "…octave low strings and doubled high strings."

I have the Strat & the pedal ...the bit with having the level on full and the tone on 9 o'clock. It makes the Strat sound semi acoustic like a Rickenbacker 12 . I do the Roger Mcguinn thing with a treble booster pushing the Mosaic and a compressor on the front end and a second compressor on the output.
@Celticsaint777
2 жыл бұрын
Is this good enough to replace a real 12 string in the studio?
@Paul_Lenard_Ewing
2 жыл бұрын
@@Celticsaint777 That is subjective :-) I play in a power trio doing all original and I like to play either the verse, chorus or middle 8 with a part that is flat picked yet be able to go back to a heavy dirt sound for the next part so when I record I indeed use it. If I played a whole songs using a 12 string I would want a 12 string guitar. It is all of course personal ascetics and genre. Even with an acoustic 12 string one may put reverb, delay or even modulation on it when recording which indeed is hardly purest. So at worst the pedal will sound no different than that. A big part of the sound to me is the Ananashead Byrd Song pedal. Roger Mcguinn used a Vox V-806 treble booster on his 12string which is a huge part of his sound. It was only made in 1966 so impossible to find and worth a small fortune. The Byrd Song is $100.00 and even uses the original NOS parts.

Anyway, I bougt this device and I think it almost sounds as an original Rickenbacker 12 strings guitar. Right? ....any interested to comment?.. 12 strings maybe completely out of any interest?.. These are so beautiful guitars, right? anyway I will keep it. If I get some money I will buy a Rickenbaker 12 string, but my problem is: I need to play "Stairway to heaven" in my Band and I have only my 1961 Gibson SG1, and currently for practising no double SG1 with another 12 strings neck, so I bought this effect and I think it sounds almost as the original guitar. There are other demos w/o compression. But a big part of the traditional electric 12 string sound *is* compression. Roger McGuinn's sound depended from the beginning on 2 studio compressors to make a thunky sounding Rickenbacker sustain & ring. If you want *that* sound you'll probably want compression even if you never use it for anything else.
