Thanks much, Saeed, for your emotional and sincere reaction to Dimash's music and artistry 🙏🎼🙏 There's a very touching backstory to this song. I saw other commenters have given you the background toit. Additionally, I believe, Dimash, along with his uncle, composed this beautiful song when he was fifteen 😍💞🌷

👍👍 Thank you for your appreciation. A little context: this song is first of all a very well-known poem in Kazakhstan. Here we are in 2017, in June it seems to me, that is to say just after the Chinese show "The Singer". Dimash returns to Kazakhstan with his new notoriety, and presents his first solo concert. It's an extremely important moment for him, to honor his country and to be honored by it. We see Dimash slimmed down by the intense effort of this year 2017, and extremely moved by the fact that he is realizing a dream. A lot of stress also in front of the responsibility: it's his first solo concert. Watching this video again is very moving and we can see that Dimash puts his soul, his heart, and more into it. Greetings from France

THE JOKE THAT DEARS CAME UP WITH: «ATTENTION! Listening to Dimash songs can cause the following symptoms: 1) mad delight; 2) culture shock; 3) goosebumps all over the body; 4) temporary stop breathing; 5) loss of speech; 6) tears from wide open eyes; 7) search for a fallen jaw on the floor; 8) frequent mentions of God's name; 9) persistent habituation to the voice, which you do not want to get rid of and the impossibility of continuing without Dimash's voice; 10) studying geography with Dimash concerts in different countries; 11) desire to learn Kazakh; 12) lack of sleep from the desire to see something else about Dimash and listen to a new or again old song; 13) unstoppable desire to get to a recital, and if once hit ... desire to follow your favorite artist over and over again; 14) daily watch and listen to the reactions of bloggers from around the world to The Dimash songs. As a side-effect - it is also possible to develop musical taste and obtain elementary musical knowledge! YOU'RE WARNED.🥰💯👍💖

It has been a dream of his since childhood to present his Kazakh songs to international audiences & have them accepted & loved as he loves them. His audience not only love these songs but also learn the lyrics to sing along with him. Dont forget that his audience are from so many different countries & cultures, so to learn the lyrics, sing with him & love the songs as much as he does, is, to him, showing huge respect to him, his country & his culture. También te recomiendo que reacciones a el . Hace conocer su 🇰🇿 , sus instrumentos nativos ,su ropa tradicional , es un fiel representante de su tierra natal . One of my favorits songs by Dimash. The story behind this song is simply admirable.Magzhan Zhumabayev One of Kazakhstan's greatest poets, professor and cientist was arrested politically ( 1934-1937) and whether out of spite or by mistake, I think out of spite they told him in prison that his wife "Daididau" no longer loved him and that she had forgotten him. So he wrote these verses before they executed him there. Captivating. How a lie changes the course of an entire life and later this flower is born in the voice of Dimash who is a lover of poetry. Destiny only God knows, right?

👉 ADAI is popular in Kazakhstan and is composed by one of the greatest dombra players, the Kazakh folk musician and composer Kurmangazy Sagyrbayuly (1823-1896). 👉 DAIDIDAU is a poem written in prison by Maghzhan Zhumabayev. Thanks to the great performance of Dimash Kudaibergen in 2017 (The Singer). Daididau is now the most famous Kazakh song in the world. (Dimash's stage costume is based on the traditional Kazakh coat, called Shapan.) The true story: The poet Maghzhan Zhumabayev was in prison in Stalingrad (now Petersburg/Russia) and had just been informed that his wife had left him. This song was his answer. He named his wife Daididau (it could be derived from 'дедім айдай ау' - the moon-like one.) It was false information, a way to torture him and others arrested for conspiracy. Also through Gorky's (a famous Russian writer) intercession, Zhumabayev was released. He saw his wife again, but only for a short time. He was executed by the Stalin regime in 1938. The widow secretly collected all his poems. (They were banned until 1989). This song was first used in the Kazakh-Soviet film 'Shanyrak' directed by Edige Bolysbayev and thus became known and very important for the Kazakh people. Here Dimash sings at his big first solo concert in Astana called ‘Bastau/ Beginning, shortly after the show 'The Singer 2017'. This concert was given to him by his hometown as a welcome home and as a thank you for his huge success in China. 30. 000 people from all over the world took part. In preparation for the concert, Dimash worked so hard that he lost a lot of weight. His family was very concerned.... but the concert was great. It blows your mind! (Only via video) I had to wait a few long years before I could see Dimash live in Prague (2022). * video by Gloria Wu with the story behind this song (2017 at Singer) - kzitem.info/news/bejne/1YWpnaahp2Vnf2U * Daididau - The Singer 2017 - kzitem.info/news/bejne/y2yGq4mJcIyElo4 * Daididau - Gakku 2017 - kzitem.info/news/bejne/pJqirKurr4d6l3Y * Daididau - Bastau 2017 - kzitem.info/news/bejne/s5dq3GVvi6JnloY * Daididau - Arnau New York 2019 - kzitem.info/news/bejne/pphoz56HjJtobJg * Daididau - Digital Concert 2021 - kzitem.info/news/bejne/o4qOr6yOiZeWZoo * Dimash's first Solo Concert "Bastau" 2017 - kzitem.info/news/bejne/la5jqn2LbWODeoI (Thanks to all Dears who helped to complete the information)

When you have time, you should really watch this entire concert (Bastau 2017). It’s his first solo concert six months after he appeared on The Singer & he’s only 23 here! The most amazing thing about this particular performance is that his in-ear monitors weren’t working (you can see him fiddling with them & then pointing to them). He performed the whole song without them. The only time I’ve seen him get emotional after a performance. I’m pretty sure this was the last song of his first concert - imagine this at 23?!? There’s another Kazakh song he sings with his parents & vocal coaches - all of his concerts are amazing but this one is so special.

His in ear monitors broke down so he had no hearing assistance during this performance. At the beginning you can see him signalling the problem. Can you imagine perfectly getting through the entire song without being able to hear yourself and background key?? Amazing!

He was so full of emotions🥹. In case you are interested in the history of this song. This song is very sad and it tells about a very dark time in the history of Kazakhstan, not so long ago. The Kazakh poet and writer Magzhan Zumabayev was sentenced by the Russian regime to 10 years in prison for conspiracy in 1929 and imprisoned. While in custody there, he was falsely (probably more intentionally) told that his wife (her nickname was Daididau) had left him. If I am correctly informed he is said to have written the lines of the song in prison (as a letter to his wife), probably to express his deep sadness and despair over is. Although he was released in 1934, he was arrested again a few months later and was executed 1937. The lyrics of this song are so sad I could cry every time I hear it. It never leaves me unmoved. Even after hearing it so many times. I was at his concert in Düsseldorf and he sang this song with us Dears there too. This song is one he always performs in his concerts, plays the Dombra (a Kazakh folk instrument), and asks his Dears to sing along with him in his Kazakh language (he looks like a Kazakh Prince with his traditional clothing). Every Dear knows many of his lyrics in Kazakh and loves to sing his songs with him at his concerts. I find it incredibly impressive and wonderful how a single man manages to bring together so many people from meanwhile 150 different countries and continents with so many different views in politics or religion, with so many different languages in a common group and to celebrate peacefully together and to sing in his own language. You always can see how proud he is of his country and how happy and moved he is when the audience sings with him in his concerts🥰. Please react to Adagio next. But Please, please🙏🙏🙏 watch the one from The Singer in 2017 in China. It's the best version. It is so emotional. This is so emotional because he literally sang for survival in this show as he was almost voted out on the last episode. That's why he had to give everything at Adagio. A song that Lara Fabian (a Belgian-Canadian singer) has already sung and also written the lyrics for. Dimash has always been a great admirer of Lara. But Dimash takes this song to another level. Every time, I see this performance I forget to breathe and get goosebumps all over my body. The emotions that Dimash sends out with this performance literally hit me physically every time🤯. And you can see that I’m not the only one. It speaks for itself that this performance leads to such emotions as that of this woman from the jury and even makes jury members cry. I love his outfit with his blue suit and white shoes. If you watch several videos of him, you will see that he often falls on his knees during many of his performances. So a Dear gave him knee pads as a gift. I don’t think he wore them on stage though. Although he has certainly gotten one or two bruises😂. kzitem.info/news/bejne/xGaIp4WvsmJpgqg Thank you again for taking the time to react to Dimash. Greetings and love from Germany👋❤️

Heya from Germany 🇩🇪 please react to Dimash singing for his mother "Marigolds". It's an old folksong about to see your mother getting older and the audience sings along with him. His mother is in the audience getting into tears and they show her on the big screen behind him. The song has not these crazy high notes but it will touch your heart. These concert was in Kiew before all these terrible things with the war begun. I'm pretty sure you will love it. All the best from Germany ☀️ Petra

The instrument is called a "Dombra", and is a traditional Kazakh instrument that has only two strings. Dimash has such a great love for his country and it's long and diverse history. He uses a few of the Kazakh instruments in his music. Perhaps you may get a greater understanding of this song if you go to Gloria Wu's channel and get the backstory. I believe this is Dimash's favorite song. He sings it at his concerts and gets the audience engaged as well. He always gets so emotional when he performs this song. He was crying during this performance. He first sang Daididau when he appeared on Singer 2017, and said it was his dream to sing this song on a very public and widely broadcasted stage. You should watch a short series, 12 i all, of videos entitled. "The Ultimate Guide to Dimash." It gives a look into the life and progress of Dimash from a very young child on up to being world renowned.

If you look back your video, at 3.38 he started to point to his ear monitor giving signal to his team that the ear monitor is not working. In the end, he perform the whole song without his ear monitor which is difficult for a live performance. If you would like to know the background story of this song, you may look at video from Gloria Wu channel taken from The Singer 2017.

Daididau is a sad protest song. In places where they cannot go on the march against acts of governments, protest songs take the form of sad songs to move people towards empathy with that suffering the unfair act so as to be able to make it know and not letting them forget. Magzhan Zhumabaev was a Kazakh poet and writer part of a group of Kazakh nationalists who wanted a new national government independent from their Russian overlords. He was arrested and convicted for the 10-year deprivation of liberty. To break him psychological and emotionally his captors lied to him that his wife, his love, to whom Magzhan called “Daididau”, had run away with a lover. So he wrote a poem “who will I tell about my sorrow and pain”. Finally Magzhan was executed by shooting on 1938. That´s why Dimash was so moved singing it.
