"Dimebag" Darrell Abbott (August 20, 1966--December 8, 2004) (also credited as Diamond Darrell) was the lead guitarist in the heavy metal band Pantera. His father, a country songwriter, owned a recording studio, where Darrell watched many blues guitarists play. Dimebag Darrell was murdered on stage December 8, 2004 when a gunman opened fire at a Damageplan concert in Columbus, Ohio biggest influence. I live 16 miles from where he was shot. RIP DIMEBAG DARELL

Dime met Ace Frehley, convinced him to sign his chest with a marker pen, then went straight to the tattoo parlor to get the signature tattooed- very painful, since Ace signed it like he would a cheque; rather tiny by tattoo standards. Yet Dime did it.
@loknloll
14 жыл бұрын
@death2ur he had ace tattoo'd on his chest way back.... when he finally met Ace, he had him sign the tattoo with a marker, and went right out and had it inked... ace was a big hero, a big hero for many guitar players of dime's generation.

Eddy Van Halen put the Van Halen 2 guitar in Dimebags grave at tthe funeral. Van Halen was Dime's idol. And vinnie later said "if Darrel new he was getting this guitar...he'd say shoot me now!" actual quote.

Scratched in stone next to Dime's head a swastika lies. Dimebag wasn't a nazi. The rebel flag originated in 1861 after confusion between the Union and Confederates due to their flag similarities. The flags where nearly identicle, a lot of lives where lost because of this at the Battle of Bull Run. The Confederates decided to design a new flag to use strictly for battle in which the Rebel Flag was born. The flag these days represents Southern States and Pride.

It was not only Dimes family that did not want him there it was also respect of Dime himself would not have wanted Phil at his funeral. Phil was a good frontman in Pantera but theres alot of shit fans don't understand about Phil and the shit he has pulled and lives he destroyed, ontop of it all he threatened Dimes life 3 weeks before Dime was murdered so that pretty much pist them all off. Phil needs to take what he sings about and learn from it R.E.S.P.E.C.T---R.I.P Dime

@DESTROYER68483 I think it's because most people remember him as a hard partier and think that that's how you should pay respects to such a person, but at the same time, I really don't think Dime would go to one of his idols graves and throw beer cans all over it. Could you picture him paying respects to Randy Rhodes' by getting drunk and throwing his garbage on his resting place and leaving it there? I REALLY don't think so!
